You know those state tests don't actually affect you directly in any way, just your school's rankings and how much money they get next year.

I don't really understand the question. Are you asking if we hate states? Ninth grade algebra has a 'one state test'?

You hate algebra? Dude, algebra is like the easiest thing since slicing bread with a shaving knife. Don't hate algebra, because if you do, you will hate more advanced math. Unfortunately, there isn't many stuff you can study in university that doesn't require math. Sure you can get a degree in English Literature, but nobody really cares about a Degree in English Literature. If you can't find a job as a literature teacher, an author or an editor, you're practically doomed to working as burger flipper at WcDonalds for decades to pay off your student loan. Or if you're lucky, get a job as an insurance salesman.

Yes, I hate them. Luckily the last two years I didn't have to take them cause of COVID.

Why would you need to study for algebra? Just get a good night's sleep.
And Ai-chan, you should really have more respect for your cutlery.

Didn't mind if it takes up class time and we can leave as soon as we are done.
Math is fun if you understand the subject. It's hell if you don't
It can also be hell if your teachers don't understand basic Math, thus asking you to explain everything that is even quite obvious.

In my state Math test I got a 96 out of 100 and it wasn't because I got a question wrong, but because I didn't write things like:

1 = 1

Which means I lost a point cause the teachers need you to tell them 1 is equals to 1.

Are you talking about America, the world or Europe? Cause McDonalds has good pay and student debts are low at anywhere but America. Ofc, there are exceptions. But still.

That sounds like proof of equality.
"It's obvious" defeats the purpose of the task.

The purpose of the task being to annoy people? If so they did a great job.

Testing your ability to use proof like approaches.
The "real deal" only allows using equivalences proven before or established as preconditions.
As replacement, you're supposed to use small steps, but it obviously becomes more soft as far as validity is concerned.

Talking about the world in general. Ai-chan doesn't live in Europe nor America, but from what Ai-chan heard, tuition fees in Europe for Europeans is cheap. Where Ai-chan is, WcDonalds is the place you work if you want to make ends meet since you don't need any qualification to flip burgers but not a place you would happily work at because it pays shit.

No idea what a state test is, given that I'm from the Balkans and we have nothing of the sort here, but from what I can understand of the comments here, it seems like something that's only given to students for a couple laughs while the teachers all work together to make it go over a select percentile in order to increase their paycheck.

"After all the drama and mayhem to try to rise in the corporation, he ended up getting thrown out from the top, and now he will have to work at McDonalds for 10 years to pay off his debt. Bad end. His fate to flip burgers, knowing he ruins the health of good people, and watching obese people pig out on poision made him depressed. He was left wondering if his life was truly any better than it was before he joined the corporation." McDonalds, which is more like WcDonalds makes the perfect bad end to a story. Perfect material right there!
