Those tags have a very dedicated following on SH. Like I suspect many of them have a fixed saved search for new GL/GB novels that have released so they can check out all new novels with those tags on the regular.

Wait... you mean that bogus score, or people who actually READ the story? Because I don't have a hundred active readers, I have over 800 "readers" but most of them don't actually "read" the story.

Most of those readers will probably read your story eventually.
As a reader, i often add stories to my reading list if i think it's interesting after the first couple of chapters, then I wait for the story to get more chapters so i can binge read it. I'm guessing that's what most other people do as well

Started posting 8 days ago, doing 3 chapters a week. Currently sitting at 13 readers. But it's only natural for people to wait for there to be more meat to sink their teeth into. I'll make sure the wait is worth the while! >:)

100 readers means you're well known??

As I have published consistently for a week, it took a rather slow for my work (with no smutty shit) to grow its audience (currently 11 readers)... unlike my old work that attracted, at least, 30+ readers for just three days... iirc. Well, my work do be slow-burner, so it's quite understandable that the growth of readers will, too, be slow.

Hmm, my story is a fantasy romance that begins as a slice of life in the first act before turning into a more serious drama/action narrative with adventures on the way to the third act. Took me about 2 months to get 100 readers, maybe? But I didn't post consistently or have a schedule until this year.
