How long you became a well-known author since you first published in SH?

What I mean by being 'well-known' at first is when you finally hit 100 readers.

I, for one, had an old account with one work being quite well-known with over 150+ readers, but it's all thanks to smut that brings clout to my old work. And in the end, I trashed it anyway due to my post-nut clarity and also my poor prose writing. Long story short, I was once a horny writer.

It was around 2019-2020 at that time.

Now I began writing seriously with an initial plan (outline) ahead... just any interesting stuff that comes out to my mind. Then I finally found myself ambitious when I flesh out some parts of my plan and even made a fantasy map properly.

As I have published consistently for a week, it took a rather slow for my work (with no smutty shit) to grow its audience (currently 11 readers)... unlike my old work that attracted, at least, 30+ readers for just three days... iirc. Well, my work do be slow-burner, so it's quite understandable that the growth of readers will, too, be slow.

How about you guys?

:blob_reach: I joined ScribbleHub during the beginning of the Silver Age, so it was long ago. Thus, I can't remember anymore.

Three weeks, which is around 25 chapters, IIRC.
But I also happen to write GL, which I gather is a rather popular genre.
I mentioned this to you in another place already, but a good cover would help with getting more people clicking on your work.

Never. Not in this site.
I was a little bit well-known in wattpad and webnovel with my Gate Guardian series, even reaching above 1M views.
Then after that, I began posting other novels here in SH as a hobby, and I barely get any views or readers here. I guess I love the community more than the views/readers

Wait... you mean that bogus score, or people who actually READ the story? Because I don't have a hundred active readers, I have over 800 "readers" but most of them don't actually "read" the story.

No need to flex lol.
I mean, if you write one, or some, or all of the popular genres, and you know how to time your release, two hundred readers in the first day is pretty possible.

Can be both... but either way, just asking when did you just become a talk of the town for a moment?

2 days, but I uploaded the first 9~ish entries on the first day to catch up with RoyalRoad uploads. Also, it might not help as much as LitRPG or Isekai, but I think Reincarnation tag definitely did help.

Took two years of 8 readers and 3 avg daily views.

My writing is literal garbage, but it was the garbage that I like.
My book is shit, but at least it's my shit.

If you're trying to get the dopamine shot from having acknowledged, write popular stuff.
If you're trying to get the dopamine during writing, enjoy the process.

They’re not lying tbh, post a GB GL and u can go to sleep and wake up with 1000 plus page views and 100+ readers (This literally happened to me)
the gays are hungry (and horny) for gay stories, it's natural.

I think it was maybe a day or two, but to be honest it was me continuing a novel I had started and was on hiatus on WN so I feel it's cheating to count it because it had been a very popular story on WN already and I'm sure there is an overlap of WN readers being on SH too.

Getting that sort of readership on WN took me at least over a week maybe two of posting at least a chapter a day and readers on WN are higher in general than WN so the same with a completely new story on SH would probably have taken even longer than it had on WN.
