Weird thought. I took a melatonin so im a little loopy. But realistically, how long will your fiction last in some form.

Okay so, Scribblehub will probably only be around for a couple more decades (at best). RoyalRoad a little longer (50 years).

But then there's the archives and other sites that scrape the internet. What would that add, a hundred years?

So at the absolute best our work will only last until lile 2200? But what if the world ends before that. Would everything on the internet be lost forever? Or is there a way to recover it?

Also if our work is in physical print it'll last waaay longer right? If we out it in a box and bury it. Thats loke 1000 years!

I wanna eternitymaxx my work so future people can enjoy genderswap scalie romance, its important

Everytime I misspell something correct it in your brain. I've done it on purpose as a training exercise.

Damn, guess i had enough sparkling water today. I'm going crazy.

That sparkling water goes crazi. Also harddrives dont actually last that long, if just stored cold it only lasts 10 years!! The aliens or future nu-humans won't be able to enjoy it

Damn, we need to get like elon musk in on it. How else are alien supposed to know how much we as a species in general would’ve liked to fuck humanoid spiders?

I actually print out and hand bind the stories that mean the most to me. I've had a few hard drive crashes and account hack scares in my lifetime. Waaaay back in the day my rough drafts would be hand written, but I got impatient over the years.

So, base on how my family hands family records, the hard copies could survive a good hundred to two-hundred years after I pass. Hopefully longer, but you never know.

I had similiar thoughts and I'm not even on that stuff. :meowsip:
But then there's the archives and other sites that scrape the internet.
Yeah, sometimes novels from here end up on various story sites with bots stealing them, so there might be those unauthorized copies out there too. :blob_cookie:

Sadly, the sheer amount of data on the internet couldn't be possibly stored forever. At one point, it's most likely bound to be lost forever. :blob_no:

Maybe. :blob_hmm_two:

This might sound like shower thoughts, because they are, but I think most webnovels have a natural lifespan. Like, people do. One way it can last longer would be if someone really liked the story and they wrote their own version of it even after the original story is gone. :meowsip:

I eat Elmer's glue.

(So all my work is sticky and will be around a long time)
I was thinking that sounded like cannibalism, but then remembered Elmer's uses a bull on the packaging but horses in the product...

I have no idea how long my fiction will last. Some of it is likely already gone, while some of it may well outlive me by decades or centuries. It's up to readers to decide, not me. If physical copies are ever made, that increases the odds of survival but nothing guarantees it.

Yes but if it survives the apocalypse as the only written word it could be the basis of a new global religion. Wouldnt that be nice?

Did you know? It takes less than 20 years for your bones to dissolve in a coffin. Nothing lasts forever, eventually all returns to soil... 🗣️
