Varies wildly from day to day and sometimes within the same day. Much like childhood but with an annoying sense of responsibility sometimes getting in the way.

We're nearly 50 years old.

We're utterly disabled, unable to work besides write novels. It's a constellation of issues that prevent us from making much money at anything we do. And our government won't give us disability support (so weird and wrong to call it "benefits"). So, we're living with a couple of girlfriends who support us almost completely, with some monthly donations from family and friends to keep us in toothpaste and clothes.

We had a 20 year career in printing and graphic design, made a webcomic for 15 of those years, and got married, bought a house, got divorced and then lost the house, and hit autistic burnout and all sorts of other garbage.

It's been super rough, but we can't say it's been worse than our childhood, actually. We generally hate all of it with a fiery passion. But we love our girlfriends, and our greater friends group, and the fact that we get to use "we" and "us" a lot of the time without much ridicule. We've found a niche to live in and we've lived long enough to see certain parts of society become way more accepting of what we are (for now).

Also, our relationship with our parents is much better now, so that's cool.

I'm not there yet, got another 454 years before I'm officially an adult. Unless I die. Which has happened before.

I'm slowly being poisoned to death by medication that I need to function, and doctors don't want to give anything else due to bullshit red tape laws. I also have no money and no 'good' job due to the partial disability.
Makes me really appreciate my teenage years.
