How fast can you write?

If I'm on a roll, I can get 500 to 1k words written in an hour. If I turn off my brain and just brain-dump-write continuously for an hour straight, I can get 2k to 3k words. I did this one day in September last year, and I got 2.9k words written that time.
On days I 'explode' writing, I can go up to 15k words per one sitting.
How the heck do you do that??? Teach me your ways, Sensei!

Pretty slow, 2k for 8 hours if I have ideas, just 500 if none

It's like 200 words per day on average.

That's because I have days with nothing written and then other days with like 10 k words because I'm like a squirrel that had red bull. I do a lot of preliminary planning though (such as characters and world setting).

Oh, I can type pretty fast, even with my short arms. But actually writing a story takes a lot of time for me.

I research stuff before I write. Then, once I get into my writing schedule, I'll stick to it until I 'warmed up' to writing again. Think of it as warming an engine.

Then, once I get into mood, I will 'explode' in writing chapters, which usually lasts an entire day or two.

Key is, I establish a routine with my writing and in-between writing, so that the ideas pile up, which I unleash whenever I get into mood for writing.

On average about 3k words in an hour though I usually pace myself with 1.5k words a day. It's less that you should get a lot in on one day and more about just getting the words down.

I hunt and peck at 143 WPM. Never learned to type, and now it's too late.

On a good day? 15000 words (about 3 chapters)

First chapter I wrote this month was chapter 31 and it was on Feb 2, last chapter I wrote earlier was chapter 127... let's say if the minimum on each chapter is 1.5k of words then... 1.5k*97 chapters in 24 days equal... @#$% I really, really, really hate math so... I don't know.

It varies a lot, but 1500 words an hour when things are flowing really well, and I think my record for words in a day is around 13,000. Average day? I don't know, and I try not to worry about it too much because I don't want to divide days into "good writing days" and "bad writing days" more than I already do, but 5,000 ish? Writing Accidental Necromancer is slower writing than writing some of my other fiction, for a variety of reasons, maybe at 75% of that speed.

When I get into the groove, I can usually get up to about 65 words per minute. Used to be, I could spend the entire day writing, and it wasn't unusual for me to churn out between seven or eight thousand words in a day. Now I consider it a good day if I can reach a thousand, and even that will take me three or four hours. Since I started working full time about a decade ago, my mental energy has just been getting lower and lower...
