I'd give myself a 10/10, mainly because I don't think naming sense is particularly important for a novel.
Names need to be easily remembered by the readers, not sound stupid, and they can't be easily confused with some other name within the novel... As long as they pass those 3 benchmarks, they're already a 10/10 to me.
Your organization can be named "[Animal] + [Color]" and nobody will bat an eye. Your surname can be "[Adjective] + [Noun]" and your readers will be very happy about it. Your name can be something you randomly thought of on a whim, your grandma's name, or something you picked from a Fantasy Name Generator and it will all be good.
Examples:
- The Grey Wolves Bandits.
- The Red Owls Mercenary Organization.
- The Evenstar Duke family.
- The Elven Kingdom of Lushvale
- Princess Aki
- Queen Claire
Or... If you want some examples from more renowned authors instead of things I came up from the top of my head...
- Greyjoy family - Game of Thrones
- Winterfell Palace - Game of Thrones
- Redcliff Earl - Dragon Age Origins
So uhn... Yeah. Don't overthink names, names are there just to make a character/place/faction recognizable. They don't need to be amazing works of art.
Caveat: If you are writing something with an important name-related prophecy or whatever, you'll obviously need to be more careful with thinking up your names, but those are the exception and not the norm.
