How do you get book covers for your book

I went on the internet, looked for royalty free art, and then made some minor tweaks, added text, and called it a day.

The InkyStones murdered my cover, so I was sad for a while.
There's nothing wrong with your cover. I am not real sure how a person walking with mountains in the background denotes the need of murder.

For people who draw theirs what do you draw with like what tool do you use to draw
A cintiq monitor, Photoshop, OBS for streaming it, and Amazon Music to keep me entertained.

Then google or my phone camera for reference material

I draw over paper with pencils and then scan the drawing. Then I use Photoshop to paint it. The background is just a generic picture.

I know there are more efficient ways to do it, but I don't have a tablet so I have to improvise.

These days, those are the same thing. xD
Pretty sad if you ask me.

CSP and (Wacom) tablet sometimes my surface go to doodle the concept. The font etc. is also done with CSP, but photoshop is better for typography.

You can also use canva for cover creation. Most of their stocks are AI generated though, so be careful if you want to monetize your book.

Started with a refurbished iPad and Apple Pencil with Procreate because it was cheaper than a screen tablet at the size I wanted - still miss Procreate some days. Honestly one of the most intuitive art programs I've had the pleasure to use, but it's exclusive to Apple and my iPad started running out of memory.

These days, I got a honkin' big boi Huion tablet (basically the same size as my monitors) on sale and use Clip Studio Paint. As a teen, I had a cheap Wacom that was great, I just find a screen easier than relearning the hand-eye coordination of the motion being on a monitor instead of the thing I'm drawing on.

Old fashioned paper and pencil will also do fine for learning - the fundamental principles of drawing are pretty much the same across medium, the learning curve comes in with the tools/materials and how the tablet might feel different from paper.

can you make a better one for me
The only error was the picture wasn't cropped properly at the bottom of the frame.

I fixed that. Removed your pen name as it didn't fit properly into the frame, it would distract from the faces of what I assumed are main characters. Now, even without the author's name, it looks more like a book cover. Kept the same font for the title, it's very sci-fi themed and I think it fits the picture.

P.S. I am not sure why I kept the "heart stopping" part, it's the template idea, but since your story happens to be tagged as the thiller it fits.

Note it's not "heart-stopping" - but "hearth stopping" - it puts out the fire I guess?

Now I'm waiting for someone to post a "Hearth Shopping Thriller" just to mess with all of us.
Not allowed to put gore on cover. I tried. No hearth shopping, you probably imagine.

...

Either way, I didn't major in marketing, so don't ask why the novels should be labelled as "hearth stopping best-seller" (or heart shopping), but book cover template thought it is somehow a good idea, so I rolled with it.

Can't speak for other countries, but as of current in the US ai images are uncopyrightable. So even if you used AI generated content, even if you took from someone else, they cannot stop you from monetizing it.
