How do Romance works?

I absolutely have no idea what love feels like because I've never got any girlfriend and romance is not my taste.

But I just randomly written a Psychopathic Romance but I made the MC's character too edgy and cringe.

In the Chapter 2 of it, they tried to kill each other then I don't know what to put next, so I just make them a Couple like my brain left the moment I was thinking what happens after they tried to kill each other.

Also, this includes love advise

When I have to write about romance, I just make up stuff based on what I learned by observing others.

Setting aside that most psychopaths don't just randomly kill people, and this sounds like a dramatic evil psychopath sort of thing rather than a realistic depiction....

It doesn't need to feel like a traditional romance, but the two should feel a connection of some kind-- even if it's just mutual respect at each other's murder proficiencly/ruthlessness/whatever.

As long as they feel like friends who are attracted to each other -- even if the friendship and attraction are of different kinds than people are used to -- it'll probably work fine. There's a lot of kinds of romance, y'know?

Then also add something different elements.

Maybe such as miracles or someone from future to stop them from killing the other.

Everyone will have a different definition of love and relationships. If your aim is popularity, then write some fluffy stuff. People going on dates together, sharing cute moments, and getting the butterflies when the partner looks at them. Even long relationships in WN tend to have the new couple experience.

Actual relationships tend to have fights, disagreements, arguments, etc. They have plenty of cute moments, but people refuse to write about the bad at least in many WN.

As @Succubiome said romance has different flavors. Romance can even be toxic, depending on the reason they are attracted to one another.

Some people are attracted to financial wealth, and those people seek out others with money. Some people are attracted to intelligence, and they seek out people who have critical thinking skills. There is no one flavor of romance.

If you want to write psychopaths who try to kill each other, and then have some hate sex afterwards, do it.

Yes i am shamelessly praising myself
But i am also unreliable

1) Classic route : They kill each other and both reincarnate in another world
1.5) Classic 2 : They kill each other and go back in time to beginning of their relationship (or baby, causing shenanigans comedy)
2) Yandere route : One succeed killing the other. Now your choice to have the remaining person, or regret and try to find ways to resurec, or happy and even CRAZY to clone with cells
3) Comedy route : Each chapter or arc, its comedy of them trying to kill each other. Like Mr. & Mrs. Smith (movie 2005) or Coyote&Beep-beep cartoon.
4) Giga background route : The cliche that suddenly there is a big reason behind the actions (analogy : its like some smalls series or games, after a small goal is done, they pop a bullshit "save the world from doom" or "devil resurrected suddenly") [Ex : naruto in fact should have ended earlier without all the big fights later on / mushoku tensei, the teleportation event + middle twist that the god is evil and fooled protag)
5) Yandere romantic-comedy route : They try to kill each other BUT THEY FIND THAT HOT. Or stop everytime before the kill succeed, and flirt. With spectators being unfazed because of being accustomed "Here we go again"
6) Time travel plot. Daughter or grandaughter appear to stop them.
6.5) One or both future versions appear.
7) Kill succeed. BUT IT CAUSE TIME LOOP, stuck in it (and most likely need to reconciliate to end it. With joke of kiss as last step. But sex could also work as its 2023 now)
8) "I AM YOU" say the other person (gender bender)

Romance, in away works when two people become interested in each other. Sometimes they start as friends, sometimes they just see each other in middle of a bar with a random spotlight shined on them. They greet, get coffee, talk to each other. Action flicks its the journey that leads them to each other. They have to have some things in common. Something that will keep them together.

After being through enough relationships, this is my conclusion.

Romance is like playing Russian Roulette but the gun is fully loaded and every chambered round is a different size caliber. The question is not "if" you get shot, but "what round am I about to swallow?".

Ah, but just for an added twist, one of the rounds won't shoot you but it'll cause someone else to get shot. It's your fault because you held the gun and Josey from next door just happened to be making cookies when it happened.
