Why are bringing that up again and again? :blob_teary: I was also 14 when I joined SHF and I still haven’t reached the place Hoshino started from.
Not every teenager is born the same. Some like Hoshino crave attention and do... this... He is not the first one and not the last one. It is what it is. While other teenagers are actually sensible humans that have enough social interactions IRL and come here to joke around or learn(ha) something.

Scum's wish isn't a bad anime, in fact, its a great interpretation on human psychology.

Oregairu/My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU has some of the best psychological displays of human character and nature through it’s characters which has been ever presented in any form of media.

Sword Art Online is really an over hated anime, and it deserves it’s own share of praise. The fights and visuals, especially in SAO: Alicization and War of the Underworld are some of the best ever as produced by A1 pictures.

Samurai 8 had much better first 40 chapters than Borutos first 40 chapters

Powerscaling can be probably hurtful when it comes to enjoying Anime. Some people should stop blathering about “x negs y” and just focus on enjoying a show.

The characters in anohano were so dramatic during the entire show that it just turned me off and by the ending I didn’t really care what happened. Like almost every action that the main characters would be so stupid, but that’s just my thought.

Chainsaw man is not as bad as some people make it out to be. I see a lot of people saying its overrated or overhyped or whatever. But no matter how much down bad denji is, nevertheless its a great manga.

I would have done far better in Takemichi’s shoes than Takemichi himself. He’s a dumb, weak, stupid crybaby b*tchboy. The most pathetic MC in history on god

Fruits Basket is badly paced. It spends too long on the wacky "If a Sohma gets hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into an animal" wacky hijinks, and has too many characters that we need to get into their tragic backstories/love lives. By the time we reach the central conflict, the story is almost over, and the resolution comes too easily. I expected more from a story unpacking generational trauma, self-destructive behaviors, and healing.

Grave of the Fireflies is not necessarily a tear jerker type of movie, but rather it's a movie that just gives off such a huge sense of hopelessness, futility, emptiness, and depression that just makes you feel dead inside, although not necessarily moved to tears. Still a good movie to make you feel very sad, but I feel it didn't have the type of buildup or emotional climax to have one singular memorable tear jerking moment that other famously sad anime do. Just...the entire thing is sad and feels bad throughout the whole movie.

Princess Mononoke is way too slow paced and incredibly boring in the first half, even by Ghibli standards. It took me 3 tries to finish this film and while I love the themes of environmentalism, it ultimately is not an entertaining watch.

Hellsing Ultimate is better than Hellsing. Hellsing only has one thing better and that's the Alucard theme music and while the rest of the OG soundtrack is good and stylistic, Ultimate still has more bangers as a whole.

Fate Stay Night/Heavens Feel is not the best route adapted. Yes, it is the most well animated and best produced due to having a movie budget, but the struggle of having to fight a loved one turned evil is not a particularly interesting or unique trope, in comparison to Unlimited Blade Works where Shirou must fight against his future self, a concept I haven't seen elsewhere. It's a much more interesting personal dilemma and inner struggle to have to face his own values, rather than some external struggle against some evil force. Unlimited Blade Works (Ufotable adapatation) is my pick for #1.

Kaguya-Sama is a Rom-Com with weak comedy about lack of romance

Despite the production issues, Flip Flappers's final third is what makes it most memorable. Early episodes are great, but without the later episodes they would feel hollow.

The Ghost in the Shell live action movie was great and didn’t deserve the hate

My little sister can't be this cute is a trashy anime/LN. I don't mind incest but its seriously way too much boring, predictable, the only good part was the OVAs where the sister left.Tsundere's are just so damn annoying.

I never really got this tbh. The show kinda just felt like your average romcom/drama, but a bit more self-aware and with a tiny bit more cynicism. It's been a while since I've watched it though. Actually, maybe I'd like it even less now that I'm older.

Every Capitalist can be a communist but every communist cannot be a Capitalist.

Arson, often condemned as a heinous crime, can be provocatively reinterpreted as a radical form of artistic expression, one that transcends conventional boundaries of creativity. The act of setting a house ablaze transforms a mundane structure into a visceral spectacle, a canvas of flames that evokes raw emotion and challenges societal norms. This incendiary performance art captures the essence of a pyromaniac's psyche, offering a glimpse into a world where destruction becomes a medium for exploring themes of chaos, beauty, and the ephemeral nature of existence. In this light, the burning house serves not merely as a site of devastation but as a provocative installation that compels observers to confront their own perceptions of art, morality, and the fine line between creation and annihilation. Thus, arson can be seen as a controversial yet compelling commentary on the human condition, igniting discussions about the nature of passion, obsession, and the lengths to which one might go to express their innermost turmoil.

Basically anything that shonen anime do well, magical girl anime do better. Both genres are very similar in that they usually have plenty of action scenes, a decent amount of comedy and character development on the side, and a fairly standard "unexpected hero starts out weak but slowly grows stronger to save everyone" story. Some in each genre also have a darker storyline that sets them apart from others, but still retain many of the same general features. Essentially, magical girl anime are just shonen anime but more focused on female casts and with different sources for their power-ups.
For all of those factors, I think magical girl anime tend to pull them off better than shonen anime. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Kill La Kill, and Symphogear have fight scenes that absolutely blow away those in many shonen anime. Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura have incredible character development (and a bonus in CCS's case, far better handling of romantic interests for the main character) that I've never seen done as well in a shonen anime. The Pretty Cure franchise does comedy better than more light-hearted shonen anime like One Piece while still also having incredible action scenes. I'll even say that Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Yuki Yuna Is A Hero do dark/psychological moments far better than darker shonens like Hunter X Hunter or Attack On Titan ever did. Of course, all of these comparisons are just my opinion, and I'll bet a lot of people will disagree.
