Basically, something like a guy (or girl) living in an old mansion. And he's a loner but the horror premise is that people go too far and invade their personal space, and they snaps or something. Realistically, I think such people seldom are violent (sorry, Hollywood), but yeah go ahead. And no, it doesn't have to include murder, maybe just some medieval-style revenge.

Awww. Looks like the prompt failed. This close the Halloween too.

The most recent twist on this was the story where a group of people break into the house of a rich doctor to kidnap his daughter, and trigger the security locking themselves in with the girl ... who also happens to be a vampire.

There were a lot of movies with this theme right at the end of the COVID lockdowns - guys break into a deaf guy's house, only to discover he was an Army Engineer or something like that and lost his hearing due to a bomb going off too close. He winds up hunting them all down and killing them one by one.

Or the blind woman who manages to shut off all the lights and fight them on equal footing.

And there was one with a bunch of kids breaking into the home of a serial killer, IIRC.

Maybe a fun twist would be they break into the home of someone like "Kevin" from Split - he seems to be a very nice guy most of the time, but he has multiple personalities - and some of the personalities have special powers as well, especially the nastier ones... He finds the punks robbing him and is apologetic, sorry for what might happen to them, and offers them full hospitality, even offering to make a meal for the invaders, helping them find the best valuables, and even warning them when one of The Others might show up... usually before a moment when he's out of sight, along with one of the home invaders, and only he comes back, with no clue what happened to the other person...
