Every time I see homeless people I feel like this shouldn’t have ever happened and want to help and I think I could one day be that person. I also immediately imagine a sad story which they usually do have one. But I can barely help myself so I either give some money or try to ignore the person knowing this person probably won’t make it long.

There’s also times where they aren’t homeless and just begging for money)

What do you guys think of the homeless?

Homeless people have always been around and always will be
meny choose to live that way and prefer it so don't feel too bad because believe it or not in a weird way a lot of them are happier being homeless then they ever would be with a home

And here's a story that will teach you to never judge a book by it's cover

Some family friends once stopped to talk to a elderly husband and wife that were begging outside the local supermarket parking lot
they thought they looked like they could use the help so my friends offered to take them in and buy them groceries
the elderly couple turned them down but my friends were quite persistent
well it turned out that they decided to come clean with my friends and actually weren't homeless or poor at all
in fact they had just stopped their RV at that supermarket while on a road trip to their summer lake home up north
when my friends asked how could they be out there begging for money like that they said "how do you expect us to pay for the summer lake house?"

What about in the witch society?
Witches are not a society but a class in a very oppressive and exploitative socio-economic system most mortals are not even aware of. I myself am (indirectly) responsible for some 6 mega-Maries (see my account page for explanation) worth of tragedies.

there weren't homeless in USSR. There may not be homeless in DPRK but it's not something I'd take my word for it https://www.reddit.com/r/communism101/comments/ps4my4

Everyone has a sad story but some are just hopelessly sad.
Just because some homeless fake it doesn’t mean they all do. Just because someone says they are doing alright doesn’t mean they are.
Truth in people is hard to see with how many sides a person has and then we all have are different perception and opinions.
people are just fucking complicated and I hate explaining shit when there is a lot to explain.

Either don't care or they bother me. I know one who knocked on a car window, and one who was walking in the road asking for donations. Those annoy me. The ones with cardboard signs I feel a bit bad for but don't really care

I want to help these people but the only way I can think to help them isn't a thing anymore.

Well, there should not be crime and having to fight for basic amenities like water and food, but here we are.

You can harp all you want, but give something good to this world and very soon it will be abused to hell.

i usually think of them as potential criminals and put my guard around them and don't show anything fancy. who knows if they will take out a knife, stab you in the back and run away with all your belongings.

They are people to and like all people they are potentially dangerous so it’s good to put ur guard up especially with drugged up angry homeless.

Once you experience working retail/fast food near an area with homeless people you quickly lose remorse. The shit I have to deal with pulls me to the dark side ever so slightly. The reasonable ones are the ones I don't mind interacting with but most of them are junkies.

Are there people who fall through the cracks? Yes.

However, if you are willing to play by the rules, in the US, nobody has to be homeless or go hungry. The problem is, the process is long and it requires you to basically be warehoused like cordwood.

Most Homeless you run into are that way because they have committed crimes and to enter the system will get them arrested because they are underage and will be returned to homes they don't want to go back to because they are being exploited, or because they are mentally ill and refuse treatment.

The problem is usually worst in Democrat-run cities because they don't want to pay for social programs and the mentally ill wandering the streets is an excellent wedge issue.

I worked in group homes, Transisional Living Programs, and Mental Health programs. 9 times out of 10, people are homeless because they want to be. The other 10 out of 10 is usually because they just became homeless and don't know what to do.

To get on a social program, you have to give up the drugs. Most homeless won't do that, so they remain homeless.

Depends on the person back here in the Philippines.

We got those so-called "Professional Squatters" where they'd sell the housing project they were granted on by their local government, then return to the streets, only to have another housing granted to them.

Then, sell. Rinse and repeat.

Lots of shits literally shits, stealing, vandalism, drugs, ruining business in general and that’s exactly why I think this shouldn’t have ever happened. They are broken people

I contemplate going homeless to sometimes but not anywhere near society being a mountain man or something.

From your experience how do we stop people from wanting to go homeless?
Have any shared there past with you?

Well, in any case, did I ever encounter a legit homeless person? Yep.

Guy was left by his wife, who was a convicted illegal drug peddler/pusher back here. He now works as a parking attendant and 'barker' (an informal job back here whose responsibility is to help passengers hail and pick up transports).

I got to know him in the middle of the pandemic. The 7-11 store in front of our village let him stay in their premises, lest he risked getting picked by the police.

He has family inside another exclusive subdivision near us (his brother), but he rarely sees him coz, well, he's poor. And guards often bar him to enter inside that village.

Guy's hardworking, though his actions are often misunderstood as he tries to knock some sense to other homeless staying around the 7-11 store. While he tries to earn his keep by working, those other peeps are just begging, so he often ends up in a fight against them.

Force people into rehab. Force people to take drugs to treat mental illness. Get rid of democratic control of the government. Go conservative. Give money from social programs to churches as they universally do a better job.

We have child surrender laws in certain states. We need laws allowing children to divorce parents.

Get rid of no fault divorce. Give children to single fathers over single mothers. Allow gays to adopt. Don't allow lesbians to adopt.
