Is a book cover really necessary for a book? Because I've seen books on trending with the default SH book cover. ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌

As for myself, I'm always too panicky to post it until I have a good book cover. I also always make my own book covers, which may not turn out professional but I do what I can to make it nice. As such I need opinions...

Whatever you feel comfortable with can make a good cover. I (and I suppose a majority of SH) am partial to anime girl covers. Personally, I like simple ones with more vibrant cel-shady type art.

I don't know if I am in any position to say this, but I would say that a cover is important to get people to click your work. It is not the only or the most important thing, but it's pretty high up there if you're looking for readers I suppose.
