Why do they both sound like made-up names? It is because they come from the same base concept of ‘was experimented on by the final boss’. Except their personality and words are completely different. The two opposing paths.
Both of them are students of a card magic academy, but one was adopted into a ‘real family’ while the other is still under the thumb of her creator. They possess different natures due to growing up in different environments
Both of them are the potential heroines of my story from the ‘Draft Idea’ posts I did. To do a quick summary: This is a card magic academy romcom fun story about a time slipper from the past. He has to work with his ‘squad’ assigned to him in order to succeed. His teammates consisting of your usual tropes and professions.
Now for an introduction…
—Heroine Name: Alice Aegis
Backstory: Is an imperfect Homunculus based on a number of individuals with talent. She is a 2nd Year student at the academy who has a ‘Class Card’ that could only be attained through spending an absurd number of achievement points. The fact she has them upon the academy’s creation meant she was skilled even before becoming a student of the academy.
Her expensive Class Card is ‘Ninja’.
It contains the ‘Passive Skill: Clone Ego’ (which creates interconnected egos for her clones regardless of type used), and the ‘Active Skill: Variable Ninjutsu’ (which contains techniques such as ‘Illusionary Clone’/‘Tool Shaping’/‘Herbal Toxin’/‘Harakiri Release’).
All these skills make her a capable tool that will destroy herself should it be required. Harakiri Release being a self-destruction skill that breaks the limit on what she can muster until death.
Personality and Personal Arc: Is your typical glasses stereotype who is being role model for others. She keeps herself organised and is reserved, but occasionally shows a burst of emotions when it comes to the ‘sisters’ (clones) she is trying to save. Even while under control, she only thinks of resisting after meeting the main character.
Not out of self-love, but thinks up a plan after seeing his personal cards. Being the first to initiate a ‘trade’ with him in the story. Her most attractive trait being her resolve and cunning.
— Heroine Name: Tia Galarain
Backstory: She was originally a clone of the two most promising heroes the final boss cultivated in his years of being alive. A perfect melding between the unique bloodline of a Time Sage and the ordinary but healthy bloodline of a man who grew into a hero by sharpening his skills.
He takes a blood sample from the child that is born and replicates her endlessly with the help of an important scientist. This man would subject each of these clones to horrific experiments, but would apologise while calling them his family.
This gaslighting eventually isn’t enough and the test subject who survived the most ended up awakening as a ‘Calamity’. Granted power by the greatest enemy of humanity, and fulfils her wish of taking revenge on her creator: Rain Tiamat.
She, who went by the name ‘Galatea’ at the time, would eventually die by the hands of the hero she shared blood relation with. His sword transcending boundaries to slice her in half.
‘Galatea’ would die in the battle, but she would preserve her power by using the prototype equipment she stole to replicate her heart of destructive desires. Trying to revive herself by reforming her body using the authority she ruled.
This was foiled by the ‘Last Boss’. He secretly takes the ego he called the ‘Galarain’ personality and allows the hero and his wife to take the original body left behind. Her personality having changed due to the weapon splitting her ego.
Her alter ego gains a new body thanks to the Last Boss. Tia Galarain eventually recovers her lost power and destroys humanity. This leading to her understanding true loneliness and using the Time Power she possessed to regress to the past. Her ‘gun’ body is teleported out of the Last Boss’s grasp and into Tia’s hands (who had lost her memory of past events and lived normally).
They would embark on changing the future while trying to hide the ‘treasured gun’ the Last Boss is so desperately looking for. This also leading to her advising the main character on his deck build.

Honestly, this is more a popularity contest for these two ideas. Which one sounds more appealing to you guys as a companion?
The ditzy girl who is brave and positive, but learns to become more mature as she experiences loss and tragedy alongside the protagonist. Eventually maturing into a ‘Hero’ that surpasses the grandparents who took her in.
Or the cool-headed yet soft glasses girl that easily feels close to people, but would rather hide her emotions due to circumstances. Her arc more about accepting who she is and embodying the figure of a broken bird taking flight once more. Going from rationalising her traumas… to being a cutie with a bright smile.
They basically have opposite arcs to each other that will affect the story. One learning to mature out of her shounen mindset, and the other learning to embrace the immaturity of romanticism.
