I Applied for a Delivery Job and got Turned Into a Flying Reindeer?! was always supposed to be my own little inside joke. "Let's take something from just about everyone's childhood and turn it into a shonen anime without the anime," I said to myself about a year ago. It will be funny and could never possibly backfire in my stupid face. I would write one book a year and see how many people I could get emotionally invested in a story about one of Santa's reindeer trying to keep Krampus from taking over the world. I would put only the minimum amount of effort into it and deliberately write it with as little self-awareness as possible.

Today I deleted half of what I'd written for the second book because I thought of a better, more emotionally engaging way for the story to go.

Help me, I've fallen for my own con :(

To OP's post, I say this: You got emotionally invested in the story. So now you want the readers to be emotionally invested. My main story world (Mysthavia - Lay the Dragon and DragonBound) Also began as a joke based on the old comic square of the dragon with a little dragongirl, and the king yelling at the hero "I said SLAY the dragon, not LAY the dragon!"

But I now have 2 full novels and am planning Book 3.

I do a lot of deleting tbh, but I made a real for myself, if it gets posted on a Billie sight, I gotta roll with any mistakes I make. Just a fun little challenge to develop my skills. You on the other hand have it rough, as long as you like what you write, that is good enough
