Readers are defined when people put it in a reading list. If you were to click on the link to your novel, on the right side, under your profile, you will see a list saying something like reading, planning to read, and dropped. That number the stats gave you come from the reading on that list.
Sadly this happens, I have it too. Just keep going and you'll catch readers if your story is interesting enough!
If u still don't get readers after like a 30 chaps then u always have the Dentai section, just use puss in boots a lot, and a big finger?. Many people have fetish of big fingers dominating puss in boots and u can also add something like BDSysteM and a bunch of milif?

Yup, that's how it is. There are thousands of books that get abandoned, so readers don't want to invest their time unless they are sure. As for words, I personally used to write 1.5 words on average when I first started, but at present 1.8k-over 2k words. And you have to maintain a proper update schedule.
