One old games magazine had a great format for reviews, but one that is hard to follow, especially when reviewing chapters: "Opening Paragraph: List overall impression, three good and three bad things. If the review is mostly positive, then have three paragraphs, one for each negative point, then another three for each positive point, and summarize with which of the six points did the most to shape your view in a final paragraph."
So if I critique something, either I will give a generic positive response (if I liked it but nothing really stood out), or I will try to follow this (though usually only two or four total points) system.
But online, people tend to either say nothing if they have a negative opinion, or go all-out savage attack.
On the other hand, they tend to just give a positive rating and move on if they do like it without saying anything.
Just assume that, unless every comment is negative AND you have a very low rating, more people liked it and said nothing than disliked it.
And if you have a lot of negative comments, especially if they keep talking about the same points, AND a low rating, then maybe you need to take the criticisms to heart and start over - but only if you really want to.
Well its actually because am afraid that other will think I Abaddon the series, even though am not, after not writing the continuation of the series for at least a month ,I started to feel like my creativity was down to worse,I can't think of anything even though I have some goal, some kind of ending in my mind but I can't realize it,I already put up an announcement for hiatus, but maybe because of overworking,my mind was so messed up right now.
Ah - one reason why I have a lot of stories I'm working on is this. I only have one up here (with 11 chapters written but only four posted), but have others with between one and just over fifty chapters sitting around on hard drives or my phone or my Google Docs account. I just bounce between them when I feel "stuck" (as they tend to be in different genres that helps a lot - if I don't feel like writing the romance story, I can jump over to the fantasy adventure one, or the Western, or one of the superhero ones or even the alien invader one, or the neo-noir/horror/superhero mashup I have here)
