Greetings!
I'm a first-time author, having just uploaded the first 31 chapters (with more coming) of the first book in my book saga, The Powers Bestowed. The first book is called The Powers Bestowed: Origins, and it centers on a rock band called Battle Cry, which suddenly becomes much more magically powerful than they ever thought they could be and has a destiny they never dreamed of in a million years. It's set in the 1980's...the time of hard rock, hair metal, and hot-looking bands.
My name is Jordi, and as a former radio air personality and professional musician, I spent years in the music and broadcast industries, and also spent a lot of time with celebrities, especially rock bands, and ended up seeing a lot more than one woman should ever see in a lifetime. I worked with a lot of different bands, and this book is inspired by a fan fiction that a friend of mine and I wrote about one of our favorite bands, REO Speedwagon. That story turned out to be an idea too good to stay as fan fiction, and since 1987, I have been very slowly crafting it into a book series that I can now work on since I am retired/disabled. I'm pretty much determined to get all three books out before God decides He's tired of my funky ass remaining on this earth.
I invite you to read my first fiction on Royal Road, especially if you are a fan of dark fantasy, rock & roll fiction, musical fiction, or even just good old fan fiction. I would appreciate constructive feedback from fellow authors, and I will be delving into others' works to read, too.
This first book has been almost 40 years in the making, so I am really hoping that all this time of building it hasn't been for nothing. Thanks for your time, everyone!
