Have you changed genres while publishing your chapters?

I definitely have. I spent an entire week changing my story to be steampunk instead of pure futuristic sci fi. To be fair, I’ve improved the writing a lot more, as well as dialogue so that’s a plus.

If so, what led you to doing this? I would presume that you had to go back and edit the chapters, maybe delaying the next batch of chapters.

A SH comment gave me the idea of toying with steampunk again in my novel.

Nope.
However, in one story, the MC is gonna get yeeted into the multiverse and gonna bounce from genre to genre for a while. But that's about a year down the road.

Uh, well, guess I'm still working on making my Romantic Fantasy a romance story, if that counts? I mean, it chapter 72 now and the Male Lead has shown up for the first time outside of his introduction arc, which was somewhere around chapter 50 or so.

Once, because I didn't know a tag existed. Never change the tags though. It can, and will, piss off your readers.

I changed the genre when I turned a Oneshot into a series. The OS only had supernatural elements while the series was completely fantasy with going into isekai.
