Has this happened to you too?

I was walking home silently as always, but then a story's scene flashed through my mind.

I remember that the scene was very emotional and that it had quite the impact on me when I saw it, but I just can't remember where that scene is from or it's details!

I can't remember the series name not the characters involved in that scene. Only something along the lines of;

A girl said tearfully "Senpai, I'm not a normal person, am I? I'm some kind of monster!"

This has happened to me too many times. I get random story scene flashbacks but I just can't remember that story's name.

And you can't really blame me. The sheer amount of stories I've read and watched up until now (only including anime, manga, manhwa, and novels) would easily surpass 1000 mark. How the hell am I supposed to remember all of them?

So my question is; does this happen to you too?

Weird, is my memory the problem? I thought that this should be normal after you read a shit ton of stories.

Actually, when a book or line hits you deep the first time you read it, after years or a long while, your brain might remind you.
It's just like a happy memory where you randomly remember and smile..I guess....

Yes, I'm flexing here. And I still remember shows I watched back in 2007. But that quote is so generic that it could very much be your mind making it up, mixing things together from multiple sources.

Finally remembered where that scene was from. It's from a series called Beyond the Boundary. (My mind didn't mix random stuff to make it up)

And I did remember this series and its plot. It's just that my mind doesn't connect those random flashback scenes with their respective series unless someone triggers the name of that series.

Side note: Since you don't remember that scene, you must have the same problem as me.

Quite often.
The more we read and retain, the more often that will happen, especially if something makes us either relate to that scene, or jogs our memory to remember it.
Another fascinating talent our brains have.

Actually yes. ? There's not much from my archaic writer past I'm proud of, but once in a while one of the tiny moments I am will break free and I briefly get to relive it, even if most of the context around it is gone. Inversely some of the more cringe things I've written like to circle back around and do the same thing.

I'll never tire of reminding you that people sleep. They have dreams. You've had a lot of dreams in your lifetime. You don't remember them. When they surface, they can evoke various sensations. One of them is déjà vu.
