Thanks to @Snake99 for bringing this to my attention:

Further on, I'd just like to hear if anyone ran into this issue. So far, I haven't noticed any issues, but I have about two dozen documents to review to see if it is actually affecting me.

Edit:

All my docs are fine, even the smutty ones. Also, thanks to @Decaded :

Sadly I can't tell, but a few minutes ago I checked my old porn work and discovered that the 6000+++ words word doc has dropped to 5900.

So yeah, maybe some shitfuckery is going on but I am not that keen to sweep through the doc.

Edit: read a doc that I think had 10k words.

Now it is 8.5k and I vaguely can tell a paragraph or two had been forcefully removed because botched pasting.

Edit2: Good news and bad news.

Good news, I am not senile

Bad news, yeah, google is deleting shit.

The only news I could find was by "Ellipsus Team"

And Ellipsus Team is itself a company that makes a writing software? So it was a promo?

The only other is from March
is
What Happens When a Romance Writer Gets Locked Out of Google Docs

There is a related but misleading article that states
Romance author gets locked out of Google Docs for "inappropriate" content

It turns out they were not locked out, but could not share the document due to certain settings. And the generic robot reply was "could not share due to inappropriate" or something along those lines.

One person stated that
"As mentioned in the hacker news discussion, this is misleading. She wasn't locked out from Google docs, her sharing was blocked. And flagged as inappropriate is Google's generic error message in those cases where it seems to think there is spamming going on."

The Hacker News reference.

I am going to post my raunchy shit in Pixiv in effort to stop all my slop getting linchi.

Like seriously, right now I am looking at my baby of 11k becoming 8.5k and wondered what I've lost and CGPT just want my money.

I never bought any stocks or shares because broke boi here, but I feel the pain of the bear.

It's a good thing I upload on more than just google drive. I make use of onedrive, post images and dropbox. Time to add two more. Protondrive seems interesting.

1.5k words is something not to be scoffed at and I still can't locate where it got bitten off.
You know, some times walk into a room and forget what i went in to do.

it is then I tell myself, "It mustn't have been important."

Side note in my cursorr research... people that post in tech forums about google doc deleting words or docs for censorship reason have been going on for 7+ years.

its quite interesting.

Yeah well, it is not interesting for me because I am not that into the whole debacle.

Until it also affected me, lol.

Anyway, I rather docs just man up and delete all my kinky shit because after reading some of them, I recalled my mental warning to never put them into public.

Same reason as SH ToS.

Same reason as SH ToS.
If it's any consolation, from what I understand of the Google doc TOS (by reading it)
Content on G doc is "safe" as long as it is "private"; the moment it's shared or set to "public" is no longer "safe". and can be subject to their "review of a violation" policies. And emails are point-to-point encrypted, IIRC.

At the same time, it's quite funny when...

So far, on the 3rd forum/Reddit thread about this, the pattern of the conversation goes.

->Google Docs is using A.I. to censor people.
->OMG No!!1!!
-> I always have multiple places to store my docs
-> I am removing all my docs from Google doc
-> You know I put all my docs on this new software, it's only $$$ per month.

Quick note, can drafts in SH be read by the mods?
Like always, only when someone reports them.

I once noticed that entire chapters were disappearing from my drafts.
A full chapter gone. And some of them I didn’t even remember writing so it felt like an irretrievable loss. It seemed strange to me that it wasn’t random fragments disappearing. That’s when I started investigating. It turned out that sometimes when I thought I was copying a chapter from the draft to edit it elsewhere, I had accidentally clicked “cut” instead of “copy.” So the chapter wasn’t really lost.
What if something like that happened to you too, guys?

As someone else in this thread mentioned, open door romance at least got one person in trouble with g doc.

I think when the author got in touch with an actual person they fixed it. But the lesson is clear, use Google for smut fiction at your own risk.
