Hi
As stated above. I have posted 21 chapters now. At first, I wasn't getting any readers until I changed the blurb. Now I'm getting some readers, about 24 readers, 11 plan to read, one paused, and two dropped. And I've got 11 really good ratings. But it's still very slow. Now, every two chapters or so, I would gain one reader. How can I get more exposure?

It depends on market tastes, my friend. Even if your novel is masterpiece-level, if it doesn't align with market tastes, your novel will likely be quiet. So all I can say is be patient and treat writing as a hobby, rather than chasing the market. Unless you truly want to be an author as your full-time profession, then market research will be a strategic, even mandatory, step. But if writing novels is just a hobby, then just enjoy the process. Regards.

Thank you!
I'm doing it as a hobby, but sometimes I want to feel recognized. I will take the patient path.

A lot of these figures are extremely suspect if you ask me. I have a hard time believing some of the numbers I'm seeing myself, between readers, views, etc. I wonder if anyone's really READING anything here - or is it just a ton of authors all trying to grab the stage? Are there any readers still here....?

I understand your feelings. Every writer (even an amateur) wants recognition; it's natural. This is very human (including the need for self-esteem in Maslow's theory of needs). But we have a very difficult time controlling the reader variable. I also often observe authors who continue to release new chapters regularly every week, even up to hundreds of chapters, but the number of bookmarks is still small. But they keep writing. I admire them for continuing to write despite minimal recognition. So I am also inspired by them to keep writing. Because for me, my novel is my life story in narrative form. It shows that I once existed.
