Gray or brown can go with most things, depending on the exact color of gray or brown. They're good neutral colors.

Grey can go with basically anything. But if it were me, I'd go with black pants, and then a necklace that's silvery and either red or blue. Or maybe a green. A green hoodie in fact wouldn't be a bad shout.

It depends on the style you're going for and the style of shirt ofc. I'm assuming here just a plain t-shirt.

Personally I'm not a fan of grey unless it's serving to add some variance to black. It works better in a supporting role, rather than the foundation or accent imo.

Literally anything, gray or brown are colors that match anything. Along with black and white

Most colors work with gray or brown. Try to avoid strong colors (unless you're going for contrast), and you're good. Various subdued shades of green and blue, light or dark, will work well, subdued red is good, orange is nice paired with brown, white or black will be fine as well. And those are just the most obvious options to me based on what fashion I've seen; you can do much more with a bit of creativity.

What kind of shirt? If it's just a normal t-shirt then blue jean all the way, unless you're trying to make some kind of fashion statement, which it doesnt sound like you are.

Try to avoid cargo shorts too. God I hate cargo shorts, its the uggs of the straight men world. Every college boy and his past-the-prime father all wear cargo shorts and a polo tee before going golfing. If thats the vibe you want then go for it, otherwise blue jeans are perfect. You don't have to worry about what color goes with grey or brown because it all does, its not like anyone is wearing yellow pants.
