So this thread is for those of us who are going to pledge not to spend money on anything we do not enjoy, and are not going to be convinced to play something we do not enjoy.

This means, if you like souls likes... spend your money on them, if you do not... do not let anyone convince you that you are missing out.
How are you missing out on something you do not enjoy?

Let me tell you my own story.
I used to like the OLD Assassin Creed games.
You know, one hit assassinations.
Running around some city with tall buildings.
Simple combat with some fun gadgets.

Then here comes ASS CREED ORIGINS.
Some people be like... oh man that was great!
I hated it.
I hated the level gating.
I hated how it extended a game due to the need to level up.

But..
FOMO.
I convinced myself I needed to experience it because all these other people were saying it was good.

Then... I played Odyssey. And Valhalla.
I spent over a hundred hours each.
It felt like a chore.
I was not enjoying it.
It wasn't fun.

It was FOMO....

Now I'm going to say this.
SCREW FOMO.

I am not wasting time on things that I don't find fun.

It's time to play Space Marine 2.
Just pirate it.

This is why you are broke and why I am rich.

Honestly, with the poor state games can come out in. The increasing predatory practices.

Companies trying to really push taking away your right to own, because our laws have not caught up to tackle the issue.

Etc.

I really do not see an issue with pirating. If the pirates can provide a better service than the official, yeah. Take my damn money if you have a funding page, I’ll support you.

Since heaven knows, those companies will just keep taking more and more.

Digital can be amazing, no doubt about it. No more waiting in line at store or rushing from one store to the next.

Though, without proper protection on the digital end. Physical becoming less viable over time.

The last option is just to pirate, at least I know I ain’t gonna get screwed over, and I have the copy on my computer.

While I don't agree with pirating.
I've come to a point where I just don't want to care about what they're making anymore. There is no loyalty from me, it's basically... I'll pay the price if I feel its worth it.

I see games more like paying to go and watch a movie more so than I do as "owning them" which is different from most, but I'm not an old school gamer like a lot of people are who wants physical copies. I generally don't go back and play games after watching either.

You can pirate first and pay the price if you like the game and want to support the creators. That's what most pirators do. But they are broke for that reason while I'm rich.

I’m the same, I don’t agree with it. I don’t want to do it, but if I have to. I will.

One of my favorite games isn’t accessible unless I pirate it. They ain’t releasing it again, so I can’t do nothing but pirate it.

And yeah, I agree. I want physical copies too, physical helps preserve games.

For me I just watch gameplay videos on YouTube to determine if it's something I would enjoy.
Still, we all prefer to do things our own way.

I am also not broke.
