Change it to China, now it actually makes more sense as they begin their interdimensional conquest, and by using the ample resources they obtain, eventually aim to conquer all of Earth. They just might also bring a great disaster back to Earth by doing so tho, as there is a good chance us humans wouldn't be the most powerful nor capable race doing this same thing just starting out. Meeting another race that has been doing this for a long time with better tech and weapons would basically be the end, leading to a world war which we will likely end up losing.
