Does anyone know of something I can use to write that isn't Docs?

I know I need to stop using the editor to write but something about docs just makes me want to not do it.

I don't use it, but my antivirus advertises it. I use 4thewords to write, and Office to back up my manuscripts. But they are not free.

While I only use Google Docs atm, I used to use yWriter, which I found to be very well designed. It just doesn't autosave online, and since I work on two different machines now, it became annoying transferring files back and forth.

I use WPS Office, which is the chinese copy of MS Office. It's free and have good UI and UX, very easy to use for Ms Office user.

Interestingly, WPS had been on the office software bussiness before Microsoft make Ms Office in the 90s.

:blob_sir: I use Notepad for most of the time then dump it into docs for you know it saves it in the cloud .. but I also use LibreOffice for local files and sometimes use it in place of Notepad too.

I also recommend LibreOffice. Just make sure you take some time to set up your toolbars.

I feel like LibreOffice and other editors are too heavyweight for web novels. They come with a lot of options that you just can't use in when posting your novel, and they don't really do anything to help you organize.

I'm using Reedsy, which I'm pretty happy with. It's mostly a website that's there to try and sell you editing services. (Though I could honestly use some editing services) It comes with some basic tools, tracking, note taking, spell check, all that.

https://reedsy.com/

The only thing it's really lacking is a grammar checker, which Google Docs is honestly very good at.

I just write on Samsung Notes because I find it more to write on my phone.
