Hi i just finished writing first chapter of my story.
I plan to write at least two more before I will publish it but I wanted to already format it to take break from writing and have this chapter ready.
Unfortunately I run in to some problems with formatting. And could not find formatting tutorial.

Come one laugh at me and tell me that I'm stupid and cant use SEARCH properly.
Just point me in the right direction while you do that.

So as I proof read, I format it as I go to know how it would look like to reader.
It looks like that in text editor:

But when I copied it to SH the nice formatting was gone.

D:

I tried to use Indent button and that just indented the whole paragraph instead on first line.

How do I make indents correctly so it looks like a book not a wall of text?

Please help.

Edit: I am aware of this thread: https://forum.scribblehub.com/threa...ilt-scribblehub-text-editor-effectively.1037/ but it still does not solve my problem... also pressing tab in a browser just don't work.

Indents in SH are a turn-off. They make me at least 20 percent less likely to read.
But what about book-like experience?

I get what you all saying with mobile. That may be a valid argument that i haven't thought off.
I didn't expect mobile peasants to be able to read. PC master race!

@RepresentingEnvy I can send you indent-less version when I will publish. Just please tell me how to do them. :blob_blank: I want to make my own decision weather to use indents or not. Not be forced by some mobile loving algorithm!

I am fine with indents in books. Okay, okay have you tried pasting without formatting? I think is Ctrl, Shift, V
Alternatively on the first line of each paragraph just press tab before the words.

It is even worse now.
Before I had a line of space before where indents should go.

Pasting without formatting turned it in to a monolithic wall of text...
:blob_teary:
Just paste normally then and press tab before each paragraph. Though if you don't want the line spacing also press backspace before tab

I just do the standard 5 spaces for indent, if there's another way to do it then let me know if you find it.

Actually doesn't work I guess. Just tried it. Though I never did indents in SH
I wrote in my first post that Tab does not work :P

I prepare things for printing for a living.

I received texts that had multiple spaces in front of each line instead of being centre aligned!
I received text that was a photo of a printout placed in pdf file.
I have seen editing horrors beyond your comprehension!

Yet I would rather post my stories indentless or sit on a cactus instead of ...
than have two spaces next to each other!

My fourth grade English teacher drilled the idea of 2 spaces after a period into my head, and I didn't stop that until the end of sixth grade.

BTW in primary school we were not allowed to submit works other than handwritten.

I tried injecting BBcode formatting, html, CSS.
Nothing works.
