First off do these request actually work? I am new here and attempting to navigate my way through this site, instead of just posting and ghosting. If they do I am interested. I have a total of twelve chapters. I am only asking that you consider the first four. I will do the same.

If you know the the name Alucard then you should know what sort of universe my story takes place in. If you ever read about a character named Kingsley Edge then you know where the inspiration comes from for this story.

They work to get a review or feedback on a few chapters, provided you give the same.
Whether they give useful information or not, whether they are snarky, straightforward, or just flummoxed, varies with reviewer.
Note that in a review swap you are MORE LIKELY to get mostly or entirely positive feedback than from a randomly granted review but are also more likely to get some detailed feedback on specific strong or weak points.

Well if you want to do a swap just post it and add whatever you want to be reviewed as a link signatures don't always work for everyone and most do not make the effort to actively search for your novel.
Actually not having a link in a feedback request will make the large majority ignore you.

Some prefer DM, some prefer it Public.

Most of the people on SH that agree to do a swap won't ghost on you, although some do prefer to take their time. Especially since Reviews don't always appear immediately sometimes it needs a few hours to a day until they appear.

Another thing, Feedback and Review are not the same thing.

Feedback (especially DM) will often be far more direct and honest then a review. If you want serious help on improvement and figure out where things are going awol, go for feedback.

A review is public so you are more likely to only see positive stuff highlighted and the bad things will be less likely elaborated.

Well it's not a bad thing it's perfectly fine imo, it's still genuine it just won't go much into the weaknesses/bad stuff.

But if I want the full destruction and take apart of my story stuff I don't request a review but rather go for feedback and then ask for DM.

Since it's more comfy and easier to discuss stuff there and I do get a lot more detail also into the bad stuff.
