I've finished writing, reading, editing and rewriting Chapter One such that I'm pretty satisfied with it.
I wonder if other people would consider that, considered as a five part short story, the prologue and chapter one form a cohesive short story. You see, I'm approaching this eight-part novel with the idea of 'standalone chapters' in mind. Each chapter, executed correctly, should perform well as both a chapter in a novel and a distinct short story.
The first chapter + prologue was written with the theme 'window to madness' in mind. Dramatic, I know, but the local writing contests are judged by drama queens.
Haruhism of a Lesser
Anybody wanna guess what the theme for chapter two is?
