I just figured non Japanese works wouldn't be very well received there.
Well, reader-wise, I only got 61 bookmarks.

Ratings, I only got 4.3 stars out of 11 scorers.

As for comments, only four (4) comments since I first posted there way back in April 2021.

There is a complaint, yes, which is about my work written in English instead of Japanese. But the commenter still supported me.

My highest view count (per day) is 600+. Accumulated views amounted to 15k.

I don't look at the reception anyway. I just post and upload there (the story there has 300+ chapters, and 14 volumes including extra content). Whether or not they read it is on them. I never received any heckling for being a gaijin, if I may add. ?

I'd choose posting that novel in Syosetu anytime, rather than disturb my peace by posting here in ScribbleHub, because the vocal audience here hated harem.

I’ve been having some general fun on Scrib with a number of people commenting that the next girl that should be added to the harem be a dragon.

I love it because I have another series on RR about a girl that gets angry when people call her a dragon.

Well, Harem already exist and encouraged in Syosetsu for very long time. Harem is kinda born and exist in the Japanese novel community like Syosetsu after all.

Like the culture of Beta Jap Male highscoler that can't even handholding, and others.

But,

Scribble hub readers usually comes from English reader who usually read too many japanese harem shitnovel from NovelUpdates or something like that.

And many creator here can't really write that much better and realistic harem dynamic. Most often, if they can't write harem with superb realism of Professional writer, it will be rejected.

Plus the existence of LGHDTV+ and Queer shitnovel due to people here leaning towards Western American and European culture. Blame it on English.

Not to mention those Fujo BL stories from Chinese that always make the females look like useless princess and the male as actual partner, and self insetting as the male ikemen while forgetting that in reality they're female themselves.

In my stereotype mind,
Harem is Hated here, unless :
-> It contain LGHDTV+ propaganda
-> It's all male and the harem owner is female (thus reverse harem)
-> it's hidden and not show clearly as Harem, but as friendship instead

or the hardest,

-> Realistic harem with real 3d depth character that have intelligence and deep lore. But people still hate it nonetheless because they're blinded by their hatred against harem.

And even with those measure, it's still going to be hated. Western culture usually hate harem and encourage cheating against your partner (NTR is hype).

--------------

to be safe, just write comedy romcom in Isekai for popularity.

Pretty much understand this part, hence, when I have the chance to remove my work here, I removed it. Besides, even though I claim to 'go against' the usual tropes, I still end up doing it and sticking around trying to subvert it.

Eh, I don't want to get political here, so I'll have no comment for this part. (I have enough political drama going on irl, so I avoid it here online)

Well, as I said in my other thread replies, certain sites have certain biases on genres. It's either put up, or shut up, as they say. Me? I choose peace of mind, hence, I avoid uploading my harem stuff here. (And those other issues where the readers sardonically asks and insults the author when they could've just read the chapter for the answers, or they think they know more about the author's story than the author himself/herself.)

or the hardest,

-> Realistic harem with real 3d depth character that have intelligence and deep lore. But people still hate it nonetheless because they're blinded by their hatred against harem.
I try to do this, but as an author with a huge--I mean, really huge--cast of characters, there are some who I tend to forgot, I admit. I won't make excuses. Nevertheless, I try to rectify these in the next volumes (since I have already planned 20 books, and I'm on my 15th).

And even with those measure, it's still going to be hated. Western culture usually hate harem and encourage cheating against your partner (NTR is hype).
Haha! True! The hypocrisy is just laughable. In any case, I just write what I want and with good measure of common sense (based on my culture and beliefs).

I've long realized that I just want to write and tell stories and not popularity. If that's what others wanted, then who am I to judge their preferences? But as for me, I prefer to write my works with as little fanfare as possible. A few readers who understand and appreciate my stories are always welcome to me.

I just started, so I don't have any particularly memorable comments yet. However, there's a guy on RR who had been commenting on most of my chapters and I'm really grateful for that. (y)

We need to appreciate commenters more. So, as thanks and so that maybe some of them will comment more, I wanted to start this thread. For those who write, what are some of your favorite comments that you have received on any of your works? For those that don't write, what are some of the best comments you've read? I'll start:

From RR around a year ago: "Why is Kronos a stoner and why does she give off serious bad bitch energy?"

WN a few years ago: "I was okay with you naming the Dwarven dude after a mid-tier sandwich, but to name him after the same sandwich twice is just cruel."

So, I need context. I've left *Switches tabs* alittle less than 4k comments. Wtf were we both reading? That was when I first joined the site. I don't think I'd even started reading smut yet...

It wasn't smut. You had asked if the main heroine was a trap. To which I replied, no, and you replied with the above comment. It's from the hero series.

I have a new favorite out of pocket comment:

"I thought this story was historically accurate until you gave a British woman pants in the 19th century. Do you have a thing for British tomboy's? If so, I have some recommendations."
