Nah it was.
I was like the first famous author here cuz I was one of those here first and already had readers from webnovel. For the first few weeks it was just my story and a couple others.

Now there are so many you get drowned out
Fair enough. My main story I posted daily for nearly a year and I was still drowned out. Though Trinitary said he wouldn't continue reading it for a few reasons so it's probably that it just wasn't good.

Yes. It is worth mention that the reader totals needed for "famous author" status count your total reader count in all the series you've launched.

For this reason, I still have famous author status after abandoning and re-booting my main series. The old version already had over 2k readers. The "Famous author" status is not the reason I kept it around. It was around 60% because my personality is such that I just don't like deleting my own work, and around 35% because still, even today, that thing gets views in the 100 count range. As such, I am hoping maybe it routes some readers over to my new version of the same series.

(This is especially important because the old one is actually more visible still today due to it's higher life-long view count. Which is still steadily climbing.)

There's a lot to be said for getting into the game early like CupcakeNinja said. Getting in early is a huge part of what got those early views that is still keeping that old series visible and allowing it to keep acting as free advertisement for the new version.

I don't think I deserve the famous author title, I only started writing for one reason and I haven't even done what I wanted to do yet. partially because I don't have enough skill, I have started to become a game designer for my own personal indie game (which is not even close to having the basic features down), and I want to actually finish one of my stories.

Aiya, used to have it but when I deleted the story my tag changed hahaha... now we're back to square one. Does it have something to do with the hearts and views or the readers as well? I doubt followers counts.

Let me tell you. If you can get those 2000 readers, you deserve the title.

This counts double if you manage to get 2000+ readers on a single series.

If you have any thoughts running contrary to this statement, I'm going to officially diagnose you with imposter syndrome if you happen to have the title, and sour grapes or flat out envy if you don't. In your case in particular, a strange self-deprecating permutation on those sour grapes.

(Ok, ok. 1 exception. Getting the readers via bots doesn't count. That said, Tony tends to do a good job of removing illegitimate accounts, so if you got the title that way then you won't be keeping it for very long.)
