Explaining pronunciation in-universe?

I don't like having to use my book's narration to just straight out explain things if I don't have to. Like, if a name is pronounced a certain way, I don't want to have to go "The word was spelled [blah] but he pronounced it [bleh]." I just wrote this as a way to make it sound a little more natural, but I'm not sure if it works. What do you think?

When we get there, you should ask Sun about it.”

“I should ask about it…soon?”

“You should ask Sun."

I like to put random pronunciation in the title without explanation just a series of letters or sounds. They'll figure it out when they read the word in the chapter. Then again, I'm dumb. lol

Ex:
Recent Chapter title: Lay-D-Say-Or-E
Within the chapter is a woman named Lady Saori.

I think it's just fun that way, like "wtf does that mean...... OHHHHH, I get it now." xD

I also do this at times just to make light of the text itself. It works just fine, but do it too much and the joke gets stale. like any joke.

I don't worry about it - unless I can make a joke like the Sun/Soon one. I KNOW people will come up with their own pronunciations anyway (and have AI readers to trip-up... er ... contend with thanks to Pocket FM.) so don't worry about it.
I gave up correcting people saying "shy-muh-rah" or "chai-mer-ah" for a ki-mu-r(schwa)" [Chimera] (among others) decades ago...
