Mind you, this is something Author-like to be discussed online. But then again, I am still occupied with Rance 01 and will be finishing it tomorrow before I play Rance 02. Still, it's been a long time I've ever felt entertained to play a game after four months. So I can't be bothered to write right now.... seriously, it brings tears in my eyes. So with that said, after flexing a cultured game, I am out of here.

Oh, and I am a little keen on knowing one's business in the world of writing... so I ask:
'Before Christmas, what would be the theme of the novel that you would be planning to write? Why, and why not the opposite?'
'What are you expecting before Christmas aside from Santa Clause, Friends, and Money? What about 'After Christmas?'
'Are you sure you would be able to finish it before Christmas ends?'

I'm writing the same shit I've been writing since last year. Anthropomorphic animals beating the shit out of each other. I'm not writing the opposite because writing feral humans loving the shit out of each other is boring and creepy.

Theme: Some form of horror.
Why: I like the style.
Why not opposite: Every time I try writing fluffy pieces, it gets serious and eventually becomes horror.

Before Christmas: Lockdowns and rum.
After: rum and tighter lockdowns

I’ll be finishing a lot of rum before Christmas ends, but now that I can get it delivered, I’ll never truly be finished.
As for writing: Not happening

Sadly, there are people abusing Trending. She’s been trafficked and thrown into a brothel with Scribblehub’s elite queuing up. Some become repeat clients, but most never return once they get what they want. Even worse, some people openly ask how to enter her room without paying in public. Most are gentle, but not all. Trending abusing people are there, sadly.

All I know is I wish people would shut the hell up about how to get to trending. But alas....its become more of a troll joke than any serious question now. I'm currently waiting for another round of "Why me get 1-star on me fiction? Am I'z bad person? Woe is me" threads. That and these trending posts come and go in almost perfectly timed cycles. There's a noticeable pattern.

To be honest, I have trouble recalling when I've left the house the last time. And what for? I think I went to drop a package off about four weeks ago, did a bit of Christmas shopping before returning home, and then never set a foot outside the door again? That should be about it. Who knew there would come a time in my life where being a bit of a shut-in was actually beneficial?

Oh, I already started a new novel. The theme is desire I don't know. It just fit somehow. And I'd better finish it in time because this was a total accident (wanted to write a short story) and I don't have the capacity for so many projects
Other than this, I don't have many expectations. The current world situation likely won't change much (although I'm quite curious to see what'll happen in the US with the election and all going on).

I wonder about that too. Like, chances are if somebody gets on trending, they won't suddenly turn into a massive hit but instead just attract more people that don't like their stuff and then complain about the bad rating I got on trending once or twice when SH wasn't that old yet and there was much less competition. The ratings for the story in question are only now averaging out again compared to the others. So, yeah, I wouldn't necessarily go on trending. More eyes on your story aren't always good.

I want to try writing the most classic/typical BL I can (transmigrated/scum villain/protag's thigh-hugging/misunderstandings' galore/oh n-no, me gay???, etc), just to see if I can.

That said, I would probably mess up even such a simple concept. So this is what I expect before Christmas. Me fucking it up. Every book I ever began had simple concepts at their hearts, but I "spice it up too much" later because I end up bored very quickly... .

Agree with this so much. I've been on trending twice (one time the 9th place, though) and it sucked. All I got was a bad star-rating right out the gate and new readers who you know will drop your book once they actually take a look at it because it's clear they do not read my genre at all.

At least nowadays, people who read my niche genre (BL, lol) can only find a book like mine because they look for it. Not because it's trending. The other BL books I've seen on trending also don't get new BL-readers from that tab. I feel like, even myself, I just ignore the trending tab and a lot people of my demographic do too.

Actually, a feature that allows one to opt out of getting on there would be nice... I don't want to take up space from people whose books actually fulfill/cater to what the trending crowd enjoys, and I won't ever benefit from it anyway. So why bother?

Yep, yep, exactly that. Trending is something that's good for a large majority but because of that, it gets the wrong eyes on more niche stuff. Personally, I never really look at the SH homepage because I don't expect to see stuff there that I'd like.

Alright, I admit it. I've seen Tab-chan three times. The first was an accident, I just kind of stumbled in, she looked so sad, I gave her a hug. She had the cutest smile when I let go, I gave her a head pat on instinct. She grabbed my arm and held it there. When a tear fell from her eye I had to hug her again. We stayed there for a long time, I'm not sure how much. Eventually, we just sat down on the couch and she rested up against me and before long her head was in my lap and I was running my fingers through her hair slowly. She made the most contented sounding sigh imaginable.

After that, I couldn't just leave her like that, I've been back twice, the last time I took her cookies. She seemed extremely happy as she munched them, even mumbling cutely as she tried to thank me with a mouth half full of cookie. She really doesn't deserve this, we need to help her escape. More people must be aware of this tragedy. #FreeTab-chan

I honestly don't know what I'm writing. It's like some murky swamp that I'm just trudging through as I tell myself "Just finish it and then you can work on better things."

The opposite of what I'm writing is something that would take skill to create, and looks who's talking.

Also I haven't left the house since I got allergy shots last week.

I just finished Rance 01 for 3 hours (also completing all side quests speedrun) and I'll finally be playing Rance 02 straight through the gutter. YEAH, BABY!! THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

Anyway, after this, I'll write a Christmas episode in my novel while also brainstorming for my special short novel before Christmas starts. That'll be exciting... but I haven't finished Amayui Castle Meister and Evenicle 2 yet...

By the way, AOKANA EXTRA? Hell yeah, I am playing that toooooooo! (I didn't finish AOKANA VN for no reason... only the anime)

It wasn't bad, I guess. 8/10. Still, Rance 01 is far more superior, and it's tame compared to 02. Enough about the criticism. I've finally finished 02 for only 2 hours and a half. Oh well, time to play Rance 03, VI and 5D. (still horny for Alice y nu fk?)
