Every story is wish fulfillment. Real life sucks. I wish I could ride a dragon.

Yes, apparently.

Correct. Whenever I eat something delicious, a wish of mine is fulfilled. Whenever I get to clock out of work, another wish is fulfilled.
EDIT: whenever I find a story with futas a wish is fulfilled.

All fetishes are popular, but its the uncommon ones that'll make you a bunch of commission money. Make an incest story, and you compete with hundreds of thousands of artists and authors. Make a belly-button worship fetish story, and you'll only compete with a few hundred artists and authors.

He wasn't ranking them. He just named them.
"in order of popularity"

You've also got to weigh it against the demand side as well. There's far more demand for incest. So, as an author, if I write an incest novel, I'm competing with more authors. however, I'm also standing in front of more of an audience. If I write a necro novel, I'm standing beside considerably fewer authors, but also in front of considerably fewer potential payers.
From what I've seen, I'd (sadly) put loli over bestiality for popularity. I could honestly make a case for over incest even. people are disgusting for even considering underage shit like that arousing, though that might be a tiny bit hypocritical from me considering how far in i am with like submissive/dubcon stuff... anyhow my kinks don't matter here.
I never dove that deep into it. But I was ranking on a weighted scale - Popularity, ease of finding a place to post/find it, and commonality of the artwork/stories in that fetish. Loli was lower mostly because it is, thankfully, so difficult to find the fetish. most sites straight up don't allow the tag. Even SH here, where there is a Loli tag, doesn't generally allow it in smut novels. of course, it's more nuanced than that, but I'm speaking generally.

Thats why I said what I did; the common ones are already having their demand met, while the uncommon ones have fans that are desperate for more content.

when it comes to smut, there's never enough. the common "taboo" fetishes still want more. That's why they remain popular and why Furry artists are still making bank if they're even just half decent.

sure but the furry artist making prolapsed holes and inflated bellies will still make more in commissions than the ones drawing vanilla stuff

provided they can find a buyer. Even if a potential buyer likes the content, they may not like the style. That's the issue.

Yeah. I am the first to admit I am not the best writer but people really crave NTR fiction so my books on Kindle sell reasonably well. The main issue is visibility, once people know where to find the fetish they are looking for they will eat it right up.

This is why I'm trying to build my following on multiple sites. Here, Bsky, deviantart, and subscribestar. I was using X, but got perma-banned.

I mean to some extent, they are. But there are a minority of fanfic writers who think the author (or developer of a game) doesn't address a plot hole or the inconsistent retconnings the original writer did, so they make one. But again, as a former fanfiction writer for 7 years, I agree that they're wish fulfillment
