‘This’ refers to something within my range, ‘that’ refers to something in the person I’m speaking to’s range. ‘Yonder’ refers to something out of both of our ranges. So when someone says “Look yonder” it’s kind of like, “Look over there”. No one really uses it anymore though, people just say ‘that’ instead.
