Elon Musk just bought a lot of Twitter out for 44 Billion and will be turning it into a private company. What do you think will come out of this?

Wait two weeks then look back and see. That's my policy with anything reported in the news these days. For especially spicy news, between three and six months seems to be long enough for conspiracy theories to swap around, or liars to be unmasked. Mostly.

Expect about a week of sensationalist freakouts that are probably skip worthy. Another week for retractions and corrections. The following week, see what might have actually went on.

But I don't care to watch the news much anyway. The plot for reality is just not very believable. Somebody needs to get the Great Author a writers' group.

I don't care. Twitter is a toxic burning pit that should be closed as it only tends to polarize people. Well I've only talked about the political side of twitter, as for the NSFW side I have no clue as I wouldn't touch the place even with a ten feet pole.

It is pretty hype. I cant wait for it to become a battleground again. Will probably take a few months to a year though because elon will face a lot of resistance. Hopefully google and apple take Twitter out of the app store so elon can sue them and open the app stores as well.

Honestly don’t think anything will change. ’Free speech’ in my opinion is just a cover. Musk likely bought it for access to user data which is as valuable as things can be on the internet. With Facebook dying Twitter is one of the largest data farms and will largely benefit his other business.

Honestly why is this even a big deal? Any billionaire could have bought the site, and is really only big because Musk is a big public celebrity.

Most people in my college don't even know who Warren Buffet is, and I could guarantee they wouldn't bat an eye if he or some else decided to buy the site.

Either way still not going to use that dumpster fire, Discord and Scribble Hub are the closest things I have have to 'proper social media', and I would rather deal with a bunch of close knit people in a small community than the Internet's equivalent of a short bus mashed together with a art display and wrestling ring.
