Are people interested in races of elves, naga, or other pretty races where the males look female in appearance? I thought it would be interesting to gather data on this. I see many of the popular stories are gender bender. But is that a good thing or a turn off? Like a futa elf or futa naga is that appealing to people?

In real life people wouldn't like futas I think. But I wonder if that's because of deception and not liking deception as well as the limits of the human bodies in this real world to be unable to change and play god as much ? So if a world had female species races that had entirely female appearance bodies would that be different if everyone is like that?

Or is this a bad idea for a story?

And also is futa beautiful MC only appealing in a hentai story?

This site has two major groups of people. LGBTQ+ and smut enjoyers.

There is some overlap, but this genderbend is likely not a theme of these feminine races. But instead a product of this site.

These exist... and yes it is a bad idea for a story. By not being an idea.

The idea works, but you can only write smut for it. Unless it is only a part of the world building, it can't be a major element or readers here will want smut.

This, in my opinion is one of the best stories on the site. It includes what you suggest, but handled in a way that doesn't need smut. Definitely worth a read.

No. It can work in any story.

These are two different questions. The first one is talking about feminine men (femboy), the second is talking about intersex:hermaphrodites (futa). Both will find interest, but the audiences are different.
So if a world had female species races that had entirely female appearance bodies would that be different if everyone is like that? Or is this a bad idea for a story?
As a setting it's somewhat common. There's definitely an audience, but like any setting, it depends on how it's written.

Bi-modal. There are people looking for this, there are people mildly disinterested, and those that moderately dislike it. I believe the latter includes a subset of transwomen who are tired of being fetishized or who find the subject involves personal dysmorphia. And there are transwomen who are cool with it. i think?

I don't have standing in relevant communities to say authoritively.

Huh - that was the first of the "Fate" anime I saw and I do not remember that character. May have to go back and rewatch it.

This is more of an elf aesthetics question than an elf physics one. Elf physics would be more like "do the pointed ears make them more aerodynamic when launched out of a catapult?"

I once read a novel with setting that most humans couldn't distinguish between a male and female elf from face alone. Or something similar. It was something like male elves having an androgynous look I believe. I can't remember if females were also described as androgynous.

The problem is, the way they described it sounded like completely logical worldbuilding. But as soon as you bring up futa or genderbender, it feels like you're now saying it's not natural worldbuilding, but an artificial push for those tags.

so maybe androgynous look without bringing up futa or genderbender tag is better?

It just depends how far you wanna push it. Personally, I don't consider the audience when I write, so it's a bit of a strange question to me. I don't know how literal to take "Entirely female appearance" here. Nobody's going to bat an eyelid if you say "Hey! elves look really beautiful and so even the males look effeminate".

Nobody will even bat an eyelid if you depict elves as an androgynous, genderless species.

For both the above cases, the "androgynous characters" tag might be better suited.

But if you say: "Hey, male elves have big boobs and/or female elves have a penis", that's when your going to need a futa tag.

The main thing i'm trying to say is that you have more than just two options here on what you could do, and those options are going to be quite different on how they play out. As for which option has the biggest audience, I have no idea.
