Ya know, There was something I was gonna do one day, but never got around to it. Too lazy.
Go through Scribble hub, and find a story you think could actually sell, if it was but cleaned up. Offer to the author to clean it up, but then YOU publish it on Amazon E-books or someplace and split the profits with the author.
Me? I bet I could make money at this, but I'm burned out. Got lazy doing ghostwriting. I just made the bare bones and sold it off to someone else. If you are a good editor, you should be able to find a good story, maybe pass it through ChatGPT or something, clean it up, then post it on one of those ebook sites people can self-publish on.
Instead of just trying to find someone to give you a steady paycheck, if your skills really are that good, and you take the time to figure out the best places to sell shit on self-publish sites, I bet you could make a whole lot of money just because people are lazy as all fuck.
Like me.
(I'm not saying you should do that with my books. You'd have to file the serial numbers off at least half of what I've written. Way too much work.)
