Appreciate it. But dose it torture you tho?Mine are called Glooms.
Not exactly sure if they are horror entities, they are similar to Hollows from Bleach but worse.
Thank you will use it in my new chapter that's coming out tomorrow.gona make a few tweaksWell, my "go-to" is Ygaruth, the Abomination, a perversion of elemental nature. It stands about forty feet tall, has a humanoid torso, a mass of tentacles for legs, one arm that ends in a massive crab claw, and the other splits at the elbow into giant humanoid forearm and a massive tentacle. Its mouth is on the center of its torso, and it has a cluster of sensory organs, including at least four eyes, sprouting from its neck where a head should be.
Others are collectively called "The Demons" - ancient beings who taught magic to man to create servants who could travel with them, only to be betrayed and expelled by the humans they sought to make "superior pets" out of. Most of them serve Tenigrath, Lord of the Void - a gigantic column of brown and black matter that forms appendages at need and has a triangular head the size of an average human that can move along its body or even be briefly separated from it.
I'd argue that Horror and Terror are different. Both are fear, but they're different types of fear. Horror is being scared of the guy chasing you with chainsaw hands. You know what is actively terrifying you right now. Terror is being scared of what MIGHT be around the next corner or in the dark room or in the dimly lit alleyway separating you from your safe and cozy home."The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown" You know who's quote this is. The best thing you can do for horror is to reveal as little about them as possible...
Well, the quote was quoted by Stephen King in Danse Macabre, which was written as a semi-official sequel TO Supernatural Horror in Literature."The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown" You know who's quote this is. The best thing you can do for horror is to reveal as little about them as possible, but if you HAVE to and there is no other way, depending on situation, an archaic name such as Adam, Amon, Apollyon (it doesn't have to start with A lmao) would do you wonders.
Would relate to that and that is too terrifying, would make a grown man cry Xd.Call them tax collectors. Don't even need to describe them as the name alone creates fear and discomford
But here is the thing, i am lazy.My process:
Look through ancient myths to find an entity that's close to what I want. Use that name, in some english approximation (I.e. the the catoblepas in greek is καταβλέπω, or katablépō, rather than the common english name Catoblepas). even if the myth doesn't have a common english name, I tend to give it one. My story Two Faces features a Yaksha as the MC, a nature spirit. I leaned heavy into the "sometimes able to shapeshift" aspect and made it an evolved form of Changelings - basically, it's a ball of pitch black metalic goop that is able to will it's body into various forms, textures, etc.
That said, I usually just wiki it. Most people aren't going to question your sources for authenticity when you're talking about a myth a couple hundred or thousand years old.

ahhh. I see. You have a basis for what you want? Any abilities, looks, designs, styles, how it's a horror thing (kills, tortures, consumes, becomes, etc)? I'm happy to help, but I'm at a loss for what fits you or your story or ability to write. But here is the thing, i am lazy.
I will think of an idea but discard it like fifty times.
The chapters i post are like scrapped five times then i post it.
Ok heres the thing,A person joins a mysterious foundation then she get experimented own for a five months, them she's left broken and have the power of immortality well kind (spoiler she can only die 5,000 times). After a year of staying she gets a mission to investigate a strange entity.but that entity tortures you in the worst possible ways possible then you can imagine, she then meets the entity, the entity learns that she's immortal and you know what happens next.ahhh. Nice!..would make a bit if tweaks in it, the chapter containing the entity will be posted today. An entity capable of the power Cell Detonation. Each and ever cell within your body essentially becomes a minor bomb that, while it won't necessarily kill you, is capable of inflicting constant torture.
Bonus points if you include that the detonations can have specific criteria. Maybe 5000 detonate every time she falls asleep. this would keep her awake for an extended period without causing permanent damage, but would leave the feeling of being shot.
As for a name... hmm.... how about Detonatrix? the ability could be something like Cellular Malice?
Sounds good! My plate is a bit full, but I'm looking forward to reading it when it's ready!Nice!..would make a bit if tweaks in it, the chapter containing the entity will be posted today.
