I only DM 3.0/3.5 d20.
There is no 4th. There is no 5th. There is no D&D Next. There is no Pathfinder.

3.5 is not dead.
3.5 IS LIFE.

Noob Handbook - You Read It. Duh
Encyclopedia Vinculum Draconis/D20 pdfs - About 1.5 gigs of pdfs and 112 Handbooks written by yours truly on everything you'd want to know about how to play 3.5 d20

Sample Characters (3rd level):
Ox - Two Handed Weapon Fighter
Zigg'le'grr - Thief
Marcus - CoDzilla
Archibald Copperpot - Blaster
Jazmine Riverford - All Rounder

However, I always DM. I've done it for over two decades. I maybe have actually played the game a half dozen times as a player, and none of the campaigns have ever stuck. So, honestly, while I am under no illusions that if I participate, I will most likely wind up having to DM, for once I would like to actually PLAY the game. If so, here is my 5th-level starting character that I would like to play.

Incinerator Pyrus Phlogiston aka "Father Flow" (5th level)

Yes, he is an ungodly abomination of rules abuse, but I think he is an abuse of the rules in a SUPPORTING character, not someone designed to absolutely dominate combat. Yes, the way he is designed he can spontaneously cast any spell, either clerical or wizard, that happens to have an elemental descriptor if he's high enough level to cast it. He does have a full round casting time for any non-fire elemental spell, so that slows him down significantly. You will find most of those are of utilitarian use and that if the rest of the party are noobs, it is always a good idea to have that one character who can hold the rest of the party together.

Besides, everyone has fire resistance. It's the most common form of energy resistance.

DM me if this actually turns into a serious group and not just a lot of talk. Thurs or fri is best for me, if you wanna discord this. Technically I could do Weds, but my wife would have to join. She might want to join anyways. And just to warn you, she is the biggest min-maxing power gamer on the planet.

She made Monks terrifying.

Actually, read the Noob Handbook (In the section: The Tier System). I go into detail about her in there.
are u speaking of the monk with infinite ac? that take no damage? with poverty vow and peace vow... disgusting monk

This is a lot to take in, it’s kinda of intimidating and I have a short attention span. I’ll go threw it thou also can we stick to the script I wrote earlier? We do it on the forums on community games.

I supply 5 pre-made characters and the website to use so everyone knows you aren't cheating. Just throwing it out there. Let me know what people are thinking of doing.

Being a DM isn't that hard, as long as you know how to multi-task. Experience wise, I have 5+ years under my belt, with 2 years playing and 4 years DMing. It can get a little tough and overwhelming, but after a while it will be quite easy.

I certainly can host a game, but not right now since I still have a campaign running.

Depending on where you live, you should be able to find a shop or two in the bigger cities that sells D&D books.

Those places often have an "adventurer's league" that runs on the weekends. It's for newbies and people who don't know anyone to run a campaign. It allows you to learn how to play, and let's you network and meet people you may want to play with.

I recommend trying to find shops that do that near you.

You can Google "places to play Dungeons and Dragons near me"

If you're in the boonies you can try playing online. D&D beyond, maybe roll 20.

Do you want in? there’s me @Theirl, Eldritch says he will be DM and his wife will be a player not very neutral but probably the only one who knows what to do as the role. And we just need 1 or 2 more.
Unless you guys are fine with someone who knows next-to-nothing, I could join. Just need someone to guide me along the way or at least something that'll teach me the mechanics.

I think I have pdf copies of the books on one of my computers if anyone would want it. Nothing illegal of course. Just....over convoluted legalities that say it's fine. I can't say the specifics on the how legally because I'm not a lawyer so, ha!

I'd be down as text only. Even speaking loudly people can barely here me. So I prefer text communication.

I just need to ask Eldritchgod on what to do from here. I thought I knew how to play this then I looked into it more and nope I don’t.
Maybe it will be better if we all don’t know what we doing.

Its not that hard... the hardest is to actually create your charaxter... the problem with 3.5 is that it demand too much prep time for the dm

So apparently D&D isn’t something you can just pick up and do right away. How are we gonna do this? Do you guys want to go into discord? I am not a good planner.

Lol, could work. If we are going with this, I'd prefer we select a schedule that could work with everyone else's. Also, my discord is my SHF name. :blob_hmm:

After the name change that discord did I'm not sure if: overlordmcgeek. Will be enough as an identifier. If not: ConansWitchBaby#7962
