Of the times I have dropped a story because of the MC, it has always been either because they are too bloodthirsty, or otherwise have done something terribly cruel.

Too many times than I can count. Usually for any of these three reasons:

1. A weak protagonist who only wallows in their emotions instead of taking action, who repeats the same mistakes over and over again.
2. A selfish protagonist who acts like a thoughtless hypocrite and judges everyone around them.
3. A bland protagonist who always acts in line with majority thinking, never questioning anything.

In short, basically someone who doesn't think and introspect.

SSS class suicide hunter gets pretty good, but it does take a while to reach that point
How long do was that take? Because I thought it was getting good then it got way worse.

Not manhua or manhwa (I read very few of those to begin with), but I did drop some stories because of the MC's personality.
Usually because they were acting too stupid, consistently making the obviously wrong choices as if on purpose, let everyone walk over them for no reason, or were otherwise insuferable.

Reminds me, that's why I stopped watching Tokyo Ghoul. People told me it gets better, but when I saw the MC whining and crying more often than not (I'm not joking, it really was at least half of the time I saw him on screen) through the first three episodes, I just could not continue. I already skimmed through the latter two of those episodes, because I just could not stand him.

I never drop a story based simply on the personality traits of a single character.

Remember one shitty manga which was readable, until I got like 12 chapters in when the mc out of nowhere going and buying a bunch of slaves. He then started to give out neoconfederate rhetoric about how slavery is only bad if the slave master is bad, and that he the will make his slaves happy (But never free them of course)

Then the younger brother of one of the slaves like a ten yo. Challenge the mc to win back his brothers freedom, and the mc beats the shit out of this literal child in front of a crowd of people.

Forget the name, but it had Alchemist in the title.
