Rest days!
So today it is too hot, and I spent the cool hours, early in the morning, editing yesterday's chapters since I couldn't do that yesterday. ChatGPT bugged out on me, and was fixed after I sent a rant to the customer support this morning. So, today I wrote 2k words, and I am proclaiming today my rest day! It used to be every Thursday, but I skipped the rest day 2 weeks in a roll, and now I am tired. And it is too hot to think. Might as well give some attention to my free feedback thread. I pledge to read at least 10k words from the book that I have to review today.
When is your rest day?

Not for writing, but my Rest days are Thursday and Saturdays.

....Not that I got to experiences my rest days this week... I'm so tired...

And... somehow, I ended up writing 5k words today as well. I am terrible at rest days...

The best reader is a binge reader!
So, I checked my mail because I wanted to see if I got an update from some things I ordered, and saw it. A message for AO3, and in there, I noticed that someone has been reading my German stories, and binge reading them at that! And not only that, but this wonderful person left them hearts! 6 hearts in total, and my grin is so huge, that my mouth is beginning to hurt.

Also, I tried cycling today. No, not on a bike. Too hot for that. I cycled in my chapters. As Dean Wesley Smith wrote in Writing into the Dark, you write the first 500 chapters (craft the setting, the character's opinions, the response of their senses) and then you write for 500 words. When you reach the 500-word point, you go back to the beginning. And write some more. I put a hell of a lot of set up every time I turned back! And the chapters are easier to finish because the last line of the first 500-word binge is the perfect ending of the chapter. The other 500 words? I use them to make the setting richer, without too much exposition, of course. And to tie in a couple of loose ends that were not mentioned in the original 500 words.

Does that take more time than writing it as a reader reads it, from A to Z? Yes, it does. But my chapters are getting better! And I don't have to force myself to finish them, which is something I always did after I completed the 3rd chapter of the day.

Do you cycle? If so, how? And what is your favorite type of reader?

A little push!
It is hot today, it was hot yesterday, and it will be hot tomorrow...
But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't give ourselves a little push here and there! I wrote one additional chapter today, and ended with 6,801 words. Two more such days, and then I can go back to writing just five chapters per day. Ending on a number that is not 5 or 0 just irks me to no end!
I will do a light exercise now, to get the kinks out of my back, and then I will read the next book in my free feedback thread. Every writer should take the time to sink in the worlds of other writers, or her own well of a world will dry up.

Do people really think I'd stoop so low? I don't write about animals that way! I am not a furry! Sure, I have the occasional Hamster POV, and Cat POV, but they didn't do coitus! And yes, I have shifter books, but the shifters do it as humans! Mostly off-screen...

Do fishes have fur? If not then it's is not furry. However, BL amongus fish mod is too much for me. Still, Haven't recovered form that covid time trauma.?

I am done with my writing for the day, and I will lay down, and read Anna's Dream! At least a couple of chapters! No backsies! I gave my word, and that book is getting a review, I have spoken!
