It just happened once with the one character. after turning into two forms the male form was killed so returning it back to its genderless state is impossible. though it was a natural occurrence used as a way for the character to make sure that at least a part of it survived an encounter it wasn't sure it could survive. that way time could continue flowing as it is the god of time.
then my answer is the same

If you go gender bender and put gl/bl I quite literaly think in my head you can change the things gender to be not gay but then you don’t get that audience :)
Yeah exactly! I was more or less making a stereotype since I've seen that literally all gender bender has BL or GL or something gay in it

There is a character in my story who is a god of time. Though it is technically without gender it splits into two separate forms. one being male and the other being female. I don't think this would count as gender bender but a friend of mine disagrees. What are your thoughts?
You just use this tag https://www.scribblehub.com/tag/protagonist-with-multiple-bodies/

The closest thing series I know to your idea is this, it has male -> male & female as well as shared consciousness https://www.novelupdates.com/series/after-transformation-mine-and-her-wild-fantasy/ and it does use gender bender so use it. Check its tags and you would have a good idea of how to tag your story ~

I agree with gb reasoning as it is indeed gb for atleast one of the bodies. I do not agree with non-binary protag though.

I see. sadly, it isn't a protagonist so I don't think I can use that tag. It's more like a watcher who aids the protagonist as well as hinders them.

A little late, sorry, but I don't like the answers here.

Losing that ability could be called gender bender, since it would leave them as a girl, no longer the gender they once were. However, it's mostly irrelevant, because-

It isn't the protagonist, and I assume it isn't a major plot point. The tag isn't there just to be tacked on for a brief mention and some extra views, it shows what the story is about. It IS gender bender, but your story doesn't need the gender bender tag since it isn't what the story is about.
