"Epic fantasy is a subgenre of fantasy that features grand scale stories, expansive world-building, and high stakes, often involving a world-ending conflict or a quest to save a nation or even the world.

It typically includes a large cast of characters, complex plots, and explores themes of good versus evil, heroism, and sacrifice."

Yes, no, maybe so?

We must start at the beginning. First, we must teach him to put on his pants, one leg at a time. Then his shoes! Then to brush his teeth, preferably twice a day, but we can't really complain if he doesn't, right?

Eventually, we will teach him how to chase chickens, like a good farm boy. While he's at it, he can muck out the stables...
And once he can swing a wooden sword without maiming himself, we can send him into the cave of giant spiders. Without telling him we already lost a squad of soldiers there. Trust me, it will be a good test.
...and if he does not come back, we have a dozen others happy to take his place. The demons will wait until one of them is ready.

I love to write epic fantasy, and both of the stories I’m currently working on, Cursed Destiny and Soul Circuit, fall right into that category. Big worlds, high stakes, complex systems, and sprawling casts. ?

my stories aren’t really the classic hero’s journey tho. Sometimes things get messy. There’s a lot of moral ambiguity, and you’re not always sure if you're following the hero or the villain. And don’t even get me started on the tragedy, the realistic, emotionally damaged, or morally questionable characters, the kind of people who aren’t perfect, but might still feel painfully relatable in all the worst or best ways.
