Does anybody of you encounter the offer about "official invitation" from Swordystory? With this AmyMok guy/girl who barely has zero followers with no officical media references... I know most authors may encounter this commonly, but when I research about it, they're pretty amateur site of god-knows-where (I'm talking about stary company who also owns Dreame app which is not attractive to anyone) from Singapore.

Apparently, I have a link here:
http://www.swordystory.com/, and once you open it, they just open the writing contest without providing themselves a profit for their proper establishment.... So I'm guessing that this company isn't trustworthy regarding the finances, and dependent contract. Also if you're an aspirant for becoming a professional novelist, try not to engage immediately on your decision, and think wisely if it's fair or not. This company is mysterious, and speculative which I considered that this is some sort of fraudelent bargain.

Apparently, my twitter has web novel link on it, so it's kinda obvious that they might search me through hashtags or a particular term "webnovel" "writing" "novel'.

Oh by the way, the reason why I post here is because it has to do with the same with the author VictorWeismann.

Not just that, I check on that account's profile activity, and it seems that there are multiple authors who might be affected.

My skepticality says these people are just the scammers of the novel world. I'm imagining by posting/submitting your work to possibly win the prize, they include some sort of hidden clause which lets them have the copyrights to it. Just speculation though, since I wouldn't really care enough to find out more.

In other words, taking your work to them, so that they can have the authority to control your own work.

Should we call the Tony?
Just to inform him.

There are probably lots of sites/groups that would try to steal our stories and people, now and in the future.

That'll be the better solution to protect for every authors' work.

I did post about this problem before after getting contacted and then look into it.
Tl;dr is that it’s very sketchy at best and most likely a scam, and this happened on other web novel site as well. It’s probably better to not get involved with them

@Tony I'm just informing you.

Feels like some legal group scouting for authors and trying to get them to sign copyright contracts for their work. I'm overall not that impressed by their incentives, royalties, and methods.

It's not like I think they're evil, but I can feel their strong desire to make people sign copyright contracts for their profits and it turns me off. No thank you Singapore ...

It sounds like they only let stories that they accept be posted on their platform ... if a person signs a contract.

Really, I feel that they just want to own the copyrights for people's stories to make money off authors. Sounds like the real world ... only based in Singapore ...

I got that multiple times. They even wrote to me for a 2-year-hiatus story with 5 chapters.
So that should tell you anything you need to know :D

Yes, someone did post about this before. This company/platform was universally agreed upon as a scam. They are suspicious and they do things in sketchy, underhanded ways. In my personal opinion, any platform that demands complete rights to your work and then cut you off is a big no-no.
