Post on royal road and scribblehub. Post smut on archive of our own. Plan is to eventually bet a patreon foe some pocket money.

I have a whole completed manuscript for a scifi book that I have no idea what to do with

If a Publishing House is your goal, don't post anything online. Polish your Script, at least in terms of story and character progression and send it out to Publishers.
Otherwise, post it on Royal Road and offer it to their in-house Publishing.
Otherwise, Self-Publish it.
Otherwise... don't publish it and make it a Webnovel.

I post here and on Royal Road.

I have a contract with Podium to publish the first 3 books of my series, including audio books; professional editing is currently in progress. They were one of two offers I received after submitting to several smaller publishing houses.

Note: I had been writing for a solid 2.5 years first, and I had edited my early chapters using that experience, before I submitted my story.

Technically I have two stories contracted with Pocket FM - but they've had issues getting money to me, and I haven't been able to keep up with the contracted release schedule so they're kind of on hold at the moment.

Now, if you're looking for advice on places to go online - had a free booklet about Serial Novels sent by Amazon just before the Pandemic hit which was what led me here (and to a few other sites), but there is a more concise yet broader summary (including everything in that booklet and a few dozen I hadn't heard of before) around here somewhere. Can't believe it's not tagged for easy discovery. Think either Hands.Trondheim or Paul.Tromba was behind it (remember the "Tro" part of the name...)

Study chinese and convert all your work into that language. Move to china, become an author at qidian and watch as your story get blocked for saying the words "Dual Cultivation" or something.

Jokes aside, I think it's good to build a reputation by cross posting on multiple sites, then get money through patreon when you get enough fans, but this is very luck-based and not stable.

Hmm, there was one agent who offered me porting my work onto a subscription site. I would be getting paid to publish my chapters there, I think the salary was based on a per word basis :blob_hmm:

I refused. It sounded too good to be true, but then again it was an nsfw site so maybe. But the refusal was because I would no longer have ownership of my work, and Monster Girls is my baby :blob_aww::blob_gift: even if I'm being offered bank, I'd likely say no.

I doubt my stuff would become the new Harry Potter. But hey, it would be fun to a see a hentai version of it on the big screen :blob_shade::blobrofl:
