Do you write what you like to read? Or does it differ?

I write what I want to write about, which has a huge overlap with what I want to read about I guess~

Like, yeah, I'd love to read stories on the topics I write about, though at the same time it's not like I read much these days... I mostly just like writing the thingies I want to write, no more no less~

Man that sounds like such a bad thing to do tho. Like, i cant write shit I dont enjoy. I dont give a fuck about reader expectations, personally.

I dont think authors should care, unless they are paid authors and it's their livelihood. Then they have to appeal to their readers, and appeal to as wife an audience as they can.
But I'm not like that so fuck the readers lol. I write what i enjoy writing, if they like it too then that's all well and good.

That said i dont think such an experiment is a bad thing. I just dont know where you think that will end? And why you continue to write it? Me, if it was something i didnt like I would drop it pretty quick once my experiment was done

If it's to achieve something bigger I want to happen, yeah I would do that too.

I tend to be alright with most things tho. Even if I hate what a character of mine has to do, I would still enjoy the development itself and where it could lead.
I agree with this whole heartedly, it's not like I am a rich author whose patrons throw money at me, so there is no reason for me to not make jokes like
"I smoked some toasters and now I am afraid of goats"

Yes and No... Nothing I've ever written have progressed beyond rough draft stages, but anyway... Everything I've written have been MtF Isekai, and almost everything I read is also MtF or Isekai or both. The main characters of the stories and/or settings are quite different however...

In the stories I read, they are mostly confident, competent and in control, and generally just stomp through any pathetic challenges the worlds throw at them, building harems, kingdoms, etc... Where as my own main characters tend to be pervy and with masochistic tendencies, and even if they have something OP, it tends to lead into them being ultimately Hoist by their own petards...
