I think you're misunderstanding the position the people commented on this thread are coming from?

Like, I think most authors appreciate constructive criticism... But... Well, it has to be constructive.

The examples listed out on the OP aren't constructive, they're just rants, so... When talking about one's reactions to this kind of comment, most would say that they ignore them entirely because they're useless.

Probably because I've seen comments made by people who have commented on this thread that show how big of pussies they are when it comes to taking such criticism? I get that it's not like everyone's read every single thing said on this forum. I'm sure there's plenty I've never even come close to seeing.

And seriously, it's not as if anyone around here is above throwing out criticism that is unconstructive when it comes to genres they don't like.

Oh, I agree that nobody is forced to be constructive when delivering criticism... I just think that we, as authors, don't really need to care about unconstructive criticism~

Except for the fact that people very clearly do, or else we wouldn't keep having threads like this. Especially considering some of the authors that have commented in one this specifically.

I'm saying that people are very hypocritical in their responses here.
