Do you feel the same? (Stockpile question)

My newest project is doing good, but...I have 3 chapters as stockpile and I just want to post them. I get this feeling under my skin that makes me uneasy. I know that if I spam my readers, they might drop the book. Not only that, but I am finally finding something I can compare to the experience of writing my first novel. The same passion, the same urge to write, to reread what I have written again and again.

But my readers are three chapters behind, and if the fact that I feel great today, and will probably binge write is any indication, they may end up around 10 chapters behind by the end of the day. The strange thing is, that these chapters are not my usual 1k ones, but around 2k without me feeling any tiredness.

Is it really so bad, that I want to spam them? To bring them up to speed and prompt them to binge read?

You already have all answers and simply ask for reinforcment from others. Wait a little bit and you will get it.
When you put it like that, it doesn't sound good... but you do have a point.

I’m the same way. When I write a chapter, I want to share it straight away cause I want to share the joy I had writing it with my readers. I also want to know if they found it as cool as I found writing it. Haha

sometimes that can be a double edged sword. As sometimes you get a lack lustre response which can sort of kill your vibe
Should I really let lost readers and lack of views stop me? What do you think? Do I binge post?
If you’re worried about that. Just spaced it out. Post one every 5 hours. That should attract more readers that way

Nope. Every three days like clock work. It seems to give the best over all return. If you wish to post more, start two new stories and post those on day 2,5,8,11 and 3,6,9,12 as well as the original 1,4,7,10
My readers seem to be keeping up with the posting tempo. I will spam them, I will spam them, I will spam spam spam!

One per day if you're in a hurry. Two per day if you're on fire, though space them out for hours in between (maybe schedule them for one every 12 hours). No more than that, though. Somehow, too many chapters out at once has that weird psychological effect of quantity over quality.

If you have extra chapters, it's better to save them for those days when you can't write.
... I don't have such days. Even when my head hurts, or anything on me hurts, for that matter, I find a way to keep my streak.

I don't stockpile chapters but have you considered combining some? A 4k chapter is not so much that people would get turned away IMO.

Without paywall locked chapters what is the reason to save them for later?

Well, the way I understand it, it is to generate more views for the story, so people will pick it up once you complete it. But I can't take it anymore. I didn't use to write like that at the beginning, and I managed to write 160k+ books back then. My brain gets tired with a story after a couple of days, and nothing, not even appreciation from the readers, can stop that process.

So, the trick is to cram as many chapters in those 10–15 days as you can because after that is like pulling teeth.

As for the chapter length, I tend to write in sprints and scenes. For my latest project I have gone up to 2,300 words, and as low as 1,700 words per chapter. I stopped trying to cookie cut them. It was just bad for my story to try and write them to length.

Thank you for all the thumbs up!

I do stockpile the extra chapters when I'm suddenly super inspired/motivated for a few reasons:
-There are days where I can't write pretty much anything as a balance to the inspired days
-There are days when I'm sick or something like that
-There are times I need time off/vacation like seeing family where I don't want to be forced to write and want to be able to focus on them

As far as whether to post them if you really want to post them I would say it depends on what your schedule is. If you are already posting daily I probably wouldn't to not spam people, but if you write fewer than a chapter a day releasing one daily until you run out of stockpile shouldn't be an issue.
