Or is it bot or something. Some grand mook on Deviantart messaged me a fanart of Invisible Woman from Marvel comics.

Heyya~i liked you character can you tell me her background? cause she is so cute and powerful

I told them ‘You must be living under a rock if you don’t know who that is.’

I am still waiting for a reply before blocking them. Spammers are Fanfiction.net and fictionpress are dumb as well.

Research about what? That's just a mass message for everyone checking the criteria, like having an image (doesn't matter if they are the author or just posted it).

Mine goes like,

"I read your work and it's amazing blah blah blah..."

All the while my view count isn't getting any higher. Then it would be followed with,

"I am an illustrator and would love to collaborate with you blah blah blah..."

Told the guy, "Yeah, I'm an illustrator myself and did all the illustrations there."

Or that one time when,

"Hello! I am a book promoter blah blah blah..."

I answered, "Ayt, I can ask you to promote mine for free because I have no money to pay you."

Guy didn't answer from then on.

Don't they have bots to just steal works in places like SH?

What, are they plan to double dip in the honey pot and also trick you into giving out your bank account?

Scammers don't do research.

See, scammers aren't planning to actually scam you in particular. They don't know who you are. They want to scam people in general. This means they are going to throw **** ... spam messages ... on people and see what sticks.

Usually it involved tricking you in sending them some money, or clicking on some suspicious link.

Even the worst scammers, i.e. the Indian helpdesk kind, aren't particularly intended to scam you in particular. The person who you talk to is the bored "9 to 5" (or rather night shift) worker that just want to finish with their lines and gets angry when you are difficult with them. They want to collect the paycheck and go home, and said paycheck is not your bank account. Said paycheck is a regular salary of helpdesk operator, and it is their boss, business owner that gets money, while regular employees don't even think they are scamming people. Well, they would figure out eventually, it takes no genius to find out, but it is still a regular job for them. They aren't career criminals, actual con men, but the minimal salary workers reading the lines. It's kinda twisted, but it is how it works.

If any con man tries to scam you in particular, well, it means you are a pretty important person ...
